209,600 new cases of dementia in the UK each year, it is estimated that around 50 million people worldwide are suffering from the condition. Dementia affects both the patient and the carer.

As the illness worsens, memory, understanding, judgement, language, mood and movement are all affected. This can make an extremely confusing situation for a person with dementia, especially in unfamiliar spaces, such as a care home.

If you have chosen to avoid care homes then a chime alarm is really easy to install, affordable and sounds 125dB. This would be enough to wake you up if needed. We often supply these to deter thieves, but they are great for alerting carers in time before someone with dementia leaves the home without you knowing.
