We are now taking bookings for October !!
🏠 Another roof transformation completed in Gotham

This property had a previous roof where expanding foam had been applied to the underside of the slates. This is something we come across far too often, and it can cause serious problems when used incorrectly.

In this case, the foam made inspection and maintenance of the roof extremely difficult and was also an issue when it came to obtaining a mortgage on the property. It’s a good reminder that using a quick fix on a roof can create much bigger problems further down the line.

We stripped the roof back and installed a completely new roofing system, including:

🔨 New fibre cement slates
🔨 New breathable roofing felt
🔨 New treated roof battens
🔨 Dry ridge system
🔨 Dry verge system to the lower level
🔨 Properly detailed and finished throughout

The end result is a roof that’s built properly, looks the part and gives the homeowner peace of mind for years to come.

If you’re buying a property or you’re unsure about the condition of your existing roof, get it checked before problems become expensive.

🏠 Finishing the week with a proper bit of leadwork!

We finished the week off with this bay window roof, completed with traditional lead mop sticks to give it that original, handcrafted finish.

There’s something about traditional leadwork that you just can’t beat — it takes the right skillset, patience and attention to detail to get the finish just right.

Going back to the original skills and keeping traditional roofing techniques alive. 🔨

🏠 Another job completed last week!

This roof was suffering from condensation issues, so we carried out the necessary work to improve the roof build-up and ventilation.

🔨 New insulation installed
🔨 Roof stripped and re-slated
🔨 Natural slate finish
🔨 Improved ventilation to help prevent future condensation problems

Condensation can cause serious problems if left untreated, including damp, mould and timber deterioration.

Another roof brought back up to standard by Tlea Roofing Contractors. 👌

🏠 Job completed last week!

This one was originally only booked in as a roof repair, but once the scaffold was up and we could properly inspect the roof, we decided a repair wasn’t the best long-term option.

We recommended stripping the roof back, installing new breathable felt, and re-slating using the existing Welsh 20x10 natural slates that came off the roof.

A much better solution than simply patching it up, giving the roof a fresh, weather-tight finish while reusing the original Welsh slate. 👌

🏡 We don’t just specialise in new roofs — we also carry out all aspects of roofing and chimney work.
Here’s a recent chimney repointing job where we repaired the mortar and fitted an air brick to help improve ventilation and prevent condensation build-up.
Over time, weather can cause mortar joints to crack and fail, allowing water in and weakening the chimney structure. By repointing the chimney properly and adding the air brick, we’ve helped protect the property and improve airflow where it’s needed.
At Tlea Roofing Contractors LTD, we take pride in completing every job to a high standard, whether it’s a full new roof, chimney repairs, repointing, leadwork, or general roofing maintenance.

⚠️ Who you choose to work on your roof really matters. 🏡
Before you let anyone onto your roof, make sure they’re experienced, qualified, and take pride in doing the job properly—not just the quickest way possible.
We recently attended a roof where the previous “roofers” had installed rubber soakers instead of proper lead soakers. Unfortunately, this is far more than just cutting corners—it’s poor workmanship and is not an acceptable roofing practice.
To put it right, we:✅ Removed the incorrect rubber soakers✅ Installed new individual lead soakers correctly✅ Used double slates to minimise the small cuts against the dormer✅ Left the roof looking neat, weatherproof, and built to last
At Tlea Roofing Contractors LTD, we believe every roof should be completed to a professional standard using the correct materials—not shortcuts that could cost homeowners thousands in the futur
Don’t be caught out by the cheapest quote. Always check reviews, ask to see previous work, and make sure you’re hiring a roofer who cares about quality as much as you do.
