We are now taking bookings for October !!
🏠 Another roof transformation completed in Gotham

This property had a previous roof where expanding foam had been applied to the underside of the slates. This is something we come across far too often, and it can cause serious problems when used incorrectly.

In this case, the foam made inspection and maintenance of the roof extremely difficult and was also an issue when it came to obtaining a mortgage on the property. It’s a good reminder that using a quick fix on a roof can create much bigger problems further down the line.

We stripped the roof back and installed a completely new roofing system, including:

🔨 New fibre cement slates
🔨 New breathable roofing felt
🔨 New treated roof battens
🔨 Dry ridge system
🔨 Dry verge system to the lower level
🔨 Properly detailed and finished throughout

🏠 Job completed last week!

This one was originally only booked in as a roof repair, but once the scaffold was up and we could properly inspect the roof, we decided a repair wasn’t the best long-term option.

We recommended stripping the roof back, installing new breathable felt, and re-slating using the existing Welsh 20x10 natural slates that came off the roof.

A much better solution than simply patching it up, giving the roof a fresh, weather-tight finish while reusing the original Welsh slate. 👌
