A little round-up of what we’ve been up to over the last few weeks 👷‍♂️🔨
We’ve had a few different projects on the go, including:
🔨 Knocking through a wall and installing a steel to create a much bigger open-plan kitchen/diner. We sort the process out with building control if you dont want to.
🏠 A full room board and skim, ready for decorating
🍴 A full kitchen refit – almost complete, we’re just waiting for the final upstand to arrive before we can get those finished photos!
And we’ve made the time to work on our own place for once…
Our yard has had a HUGE clear-out ready for a bit of a transformation of its own its needed. New signage is on the way and we’re preparing the front ready to be re-rendered and finished with CorkSol.
It might not have been a week of big “finished project” photos, but there’s definitely been plenty going on behind the scenes!

📋 Three pre-start meetings in prep

Before we start any job, we’ll always arrange a pre-start meeting. It gives us chance to go through everything properly, answer any questions and make sure everyone knows what’s happening before we get going.

It’s also nice for our clients to get to know me and Luke a little better. 😊

We then keep that communication going right the way through the project — keeping you updated, talking through each stage and making sure you always know what’s going on.

We just think it makes the whole job that bit more personal and a lot less stressful! 🏡🔨

🪵 CorkSol Fun Fact of the Day!

Did you know cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree — without cutting the tree down? 🌳

The bark naturally grows back and can be harvested again, making cork a renewable and sustainable material. ♻️

So when we spray CorkSol, we're not just improving homes… we're using a pretty clever bit of nature too! 💚

We’re really pleased to be sponsoring the Little Dream Bug Spooky Disco this October! 💜

Little Dream Bug supports children receiving care on Children’s Ward 25 at King’s Mill Hospital, providing things such as new pyjamas and underwear to help make hospital stays that little bit more comfortable. ❤️

As a local family business, supporting something that directly helps local children and families is something we’re very happy to get behind.

A fantastic day supporting two amazing local charities! ⛳️💙

We were proud to sponsor Vaughandale Construction’s Charity Golf Day, helping raise an incredible £5,073 for John Eastwood Hospice and Nottinghamshire Hospice.

🏡 PHASE 3 – | THE KITCHEN IS GOING IN! 🔨

Now we’re getting somewhere! 👏

Following the full-room skim, the new kitchen installation is underway and those lovely sage green units are starting to bring the room to life. 💚

Managed to escape the summer holiday juggle for a couple of hours this morning 😂🙌

Not done much networking this month but I did make it to Mansfield Grafters today 🙌
We had a great presentation from Gerard Cranes, learning more about what they do and how the business has grown.
I also discovered who to call if I ever need a hot tub craning over the house… 🏗👌

Mansfield Grafters still have opportunities for plumbers, electricians, roofers and scaffolders to join the group, so if you’re in one of those trades and fancy meeting other local businesses and picking up new connections/work, give them a message.

It’s always good to get out and learn more about other local businesses — you never know when one of our customers might need someone we’ve met, or when we might be able to help each other on a job.

What a difference already! 👏

Following the full kitchen rip-out and alterations, the room has now had a full skim – walls and ceiling, giving us a fresh, smooth base ready for the next stage.
Next up… the new kitchen fit! 🔨🏠

It’s always good to show the stages people don’t usually see – a lot goes on behind the scenes before you get that finished kitchen! 👀
