Choosing an electrician? Don't just compare the price.
Before deciding who to trust with electrical work in your home, there are a few things worth checking:
• Qualifications & experience – are they appropriate and relevant to the work you need doing?
• Competent Person registration – for domestic installation work, check whether the business is registered with a Government-authorised scheme such as NAPIT or NICEIC.
• Certification – make sure you understand what electrical certificates and, where applicable, Building Regulations documentation you'll receive.
• Insurance – a professional electrician should hold appropriate insurance and be happy to confirm this if asked.
• Reviews – don't just look at the star rating. Look for recent reviews relating to work similar to your own and what customers say about communication, reliability and workmanship.
Choosing an electrician isn't just about price — it's about having confidence in who is carrying out the work and how it will be carried out.
