Our team was mobilised at short notice to support Thornham Solar Farm following a suspected cable fault impacting generation.

After carrying out detailed fault diagnostics, we identified the issue and recommended a cable replacement solution. The team then delivered the full scope of works, including excavation, cable replacement, testing, and reinstatement, ensuring the asset was safely returned to service.

By acting quickly and efficiently, we helped restore generation capacity and minimise downtime, enabling the site to resume contributing renewable energy to the grid.

A great effort from the team to deliver a safe, responsive, and effective solution.👏

George Campbell Leisure Centre – Energy Upgrade Project

We’re excited to share the successful completion of an energy upgrade at the George Campbell Leisure Centre for Fenland District Council! ⚡🏢

As part of the Council’s commitment to creating more sustainable and energy‑efficient leisure facilities, we installed additional solar PV panels at the site. We are excited to announce that AM Electrics has been awarded the PV RISO Testing works at Crugmawr Solar Farm in Wales by Lightsource bp ☀️

The project involves testing 27,000 existing solar modules to assess their suitability for continued use and determine their expected future performance and energy output.

As part of our commitment to maintaining the long-term performance and reliability of the assets we deliver, we have also been commissioned to undertake RISO testing and condition reporting across all 27,000 modules. This forms a key part of our ongoing asset maintenance and quality assurance programme, helping to ensure optimum system performance throughout the asset lifecycle. 🌍♻️⚡

Case Study Spotlight: Babraham Park & Ride Microgrid Energy Grid ☀️

After several months of dedicated work and close collaboration with the Equans project team, we’re proud to announce the successful delivery of another project in Cambridge.

Our Solar PV/EV canopy installation at the Babraham Park & Ride is supporting both park and ride users and also Addenbrooke’s Hospital by helping build a cleaner, more resilient energy system, reducing carbon emissions and strengthening local energy resources, including supporting growing EV use in the Cambridge area.⚡🚗

We’re excited to see the positive impact this project will have on the local community, Addenbrookes Hospital and are grateful to Equans for their continued partnership.
