🔥 Oil out, heat pump in.

This week we installed a new 10kW Vaillant aroTHERM plus heat pump, replacing an ageing oil boiler.

The client wanted the heat pump positioned away from the property, with the pipework kept as discreet as possible. We installed underground MLCP pipework from the unit back to the house, passing through a stud wall and entering into the airing cupboard.

The existing cylinder was replaced with a 300L Vaillant heat pump cylinder, with the system fully flushed and refilled to VDI 2035 water quality standards.

The system has been designed to run on full weather compensation, keeping flow temperatures as low as possible for maximum efficiency and comfort.

💷 The installation also qualified for the full £9,000 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, significantly reducing the cost of moving from oil to a heat pump.

Gas out, heat pump in 🟢

Solid transformation completed this week.

Heating
Swapped an old gas boiler for a Vaillant aroTHERM plus running at 360% efficiency. Upgraded 4 radiators to suit the lower flow temperatures and gave the whole system a thorough flush and fill.

Hot Water
Took out the old 120L copper cylinder and loft tanks, replacing them with a 250L pressurised cylinder. With all that extra mains pressure, we also swapped out an old electric shower for a new dual outlet bar mixer shower.

Super low running costs and proper hot water pressure. Job done 🛠️

The client was concerned about the health of their existing heating system and putting too much pressure through the old pipework.
