This UC 203×203×86 has come in for an upcoming project on Prince of Wales Road, Norwich.
For anyone not living in steel every day: a Universal Column of this size weighs 86kg per metre.
At 11.5m long, that’s nearly a tonne in a single piece — the kind of section you don’t just pick up and throw on the saw.
Heavy kit for a heavy job. Another one we’re looking forward to fabricating and getting on site.

After a big Bank Holiday move, JAS Welding Services Ltd is now fully operational in our new premises.
The workshop is set up, the kit is in place, and the team is back at it — ready to take on structural steel, custom fabrication, on-site welding, repairs, staircases, railings, gates and more.
Thank you to everyone who was patient while we shifted everything over. We’re now better set up than ever to deliver the same high-quality, UKCA & BS EN 1090 work you’ve come to expect — with more space and capacity.
