A bathroom with a story behind it 🇲🇦

As part of this two-storey extension, we created a brand-new downstairs shower room but this one was always going to be a little different.

Inspired by the homeowners’ travels to Morocco, the whole space has been designed around details and memories brought home from their trip. The beautiful brass basin and tap were actually brought back from Morocco by the family and became the starting point for the design.

From there, the patterned tiles, deep blue cabinetry and brass finishes have brought everything together to create a really bold, characterful space that feels completely personal to the home.

We love being able to build spaces that aren’t just practical, but have a story behind them too.

And this is only one part of the much larger two-storey extension we’ve recently completed, more to come from this project soon. 👀

A transformation worth swiping for 👀

From a dated, tired kitchen to a bright, fresh and much more practical space.

The Building Solutions Norfolk team have completely renovated this kitchen, giving it a full new lease of life with new cabinetry, worktops, appliances and a much cleaner, more modern finish throughout.

It’s amazing what can be achieved without needing to completely change the footprint of a room.

Lots happening on site with this two-storey extension 👷‍♂️🔨

We’ve shared a few updates from this project already, and it’s really starting to take shape now.

Downstairs, the extension is being opened up into the existing kitchen to create a much larger kitchen space, while the front section will become a new shower room. Underfloor heating has been installed, the plumbing is going in and the shower room is being prepared ready for tiling before the shower, toilet and basin can be fitted.

Upstairs, new structural steels are now in place and the existing front bedroom has been opened through into the extension to create a much bigger room. A new radiator is also being fitted to accommodate the increased space, with plastering and finishing works next on the list.

At the rear, the new upstairs room, which will be used by the family as a bedroom/home office is almost complete and ready for them to decorate.

And today, Ryan was busy with one of the biggest changes downstairs breaking through from the existing kitchen into the new extension. 👏

Still plenty happening, but a huge amount of progress since our last visit. We’ll keep you updated as this one moves into the the final stages.

Another project complete for the Building Solutions Norfolk team 🏡

This Norwich renovation has been a brilliant project to follow from the early stages right through to the finished result.

What was once part of the garage has been completely transformed into an additional bedroom with its own en suite, including new windows and brickwork to completely change the appearance of the front of the property.

The work didn’t stop there. The entrance and hallway have been transformed too, with extensive internal alterations, plastering, new flooring, internal doors and a new front door, creating a much brighter and more modern entrance into the home.

There have been plenty of structural changes behind the scenes to make the new layout work, alongside the bathroom renovations we’ve shared previously, including both the upstairs family bathroom and downstairs bathroom.

Like many renovation projects, this one has brought its challenges, particularly with the family continuing to live in the property throughout, but seeing everything come together has made it all worthwhile.

These photos are just a small look at part of the finished transformation and what a difference it has made to this home.

A little look at one of the finished bathrooms from one of our Norwich projects ✨

This one was completed this week and we’re so pleased with how it’s all come together. The patterned tiles, brushed brass finishes, warm wood and freestanding bath work so well together and give the room so much character.

Just a small snapshot for now, as there’s plenty more from this project still to share.

Restoring The Boundary, one detail at a time.

Work is continuing on this restoration project, with the focus very much on repairing and refreshing the existing building while keeping its original character.

The balcony has been carefully scraped back, repaired, filled, sanded and repainted, with the railings refurbished at the same time. The downpipes have also been repaired and painted, leadwork cleaned down and refreshed, brickwork and fascias attended to, and the non-PVC windows repainted.

The main entrance has had the same treatment too, with damaged and tired areas stripped back, filled, sanded and repainted to give the exterior a cleaner, more cared-for finish without taking away from the character of the building.

There’s still more to come, including repairs to one of the walls at the rear, so we’ll be sharing another update soon.

Another big step forward on this Norwich bathroom renovation. 🚿

We shared the early stages of this bathroom recently, and it’s really starting to come together now.

The new flooring is down, tiling is well underway and the patterned feature tiles are adding so much character alongside the classic white metro tiles. The new radiator is in place too, with the bathroom suite now beginning to be fitted.

There are still a few finishing touches to go, but you can really start to see the final look taking shape.

A cleverly designed extension making the most of every inch of space. 🏡

Work is progressing really well on this Norwich project here at Building Solutions Norfolk.

The ground-floor extension will open up and extend the existing kitchen, while upstairs, the first-floor extension has been designed to project further out than the footprint below. This creates the additional space needed for a new bedroom and to enlarge an existing bedroom, while still maintaining access down the side of the property.

It’s a great example of how thoughtful design can maximise the space available without compromising the practical layout of the home.

The roof is on, finishing details are underway and sections of the scaffolding are already starting to come down. Another big step forward and it won’t be long before this project really starts to come together.
