Behind the scenes of a wider Roman blind 👀
This blind is 172.5 cm wide, but the fabric only comes 138 cm wide on the roll.
Instead of compromising the design, I centre the main width of the fabric and then add carefully pattern-matched panels to each side (around 17 cm per side in this case).
The result is a blind that looks completely seamless when finished — no obvious joins, no visual imbalance, just the pattern flowing exactly as it should.
This is one of those details you may never notice as a customer… but it’s where bespoke really earns its name ✂️🧵

At the bottom corners of my Roman blinds, the fabric is mitred rather than simply folded back. This removes bulk and gives a flatter, more refined finish... The last picture shows both finishes.

This short video shows why a hand-sewn Roman blind makes such a difference to the finished piece. Hand-sewn blinds do cost more than machine-sewn ones, but I think you’ll agree the extra investment is worth it.
