Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards… 🔨

This patio looked the part, but unfortunately what was underneath told a different story.

Loose sandstone, inadequate bedding, no primer and a failing sub-base had caused a large section of the patio to sink considerably.

So, up it came. 😅

We installed additional footings where required, rebuilt and properly compacted the sub-base, then relaid the existing Raj Green/Fern sandstone correctly with primer before finishing the whole lot with Flowpoint jointing.

Same patio. Same stone. Just built properly this time. 👌

Not our design, and fixing somebody else’s work is never our favourite kind of job… but seeing it all solid again — and having a very happy customer at the end — makes it worthwhile.

And that view certainly didn’t make going to work any harder. 😍

From one pot to a whole garden 🌿

A little throwback to one of our smaller planting jobs from last year — a woodland-inspired mix of ferns, heucheras, grasses, lavender and spring bulbs, alongside a spiral Bay Laurel.

This might be a tiny example, but our planting service certainly isn’t. 🌱

From choosing one statement plant, refreshing an existing border, right through to designing and planting full garden schemes from scratch — we can take care of the lot.

Planting season is always just around the corner, we’re now taking bookings for planting projects into the New Year.

Big or small, let’s get something growing. 🌿

Another Raj Green patio, are we obsessed? I think so. 😍

Mixed sizes, loads of natural colour and not two slabs quite the same. There’s a reason we never get bored of laying it.

Alongside the new patio, we’ve created a huge play area finished with play bark and rubber kerb edging — all ready for the new climbing frame to arrive.

So the adults get a lovely new patio…

…and the kids get somewhere else to cause absolute carnage. 😂

Everyone’s a winner. 🌿

A little more than just a few raised beds 🌱

We built these sleeper planters for a local respite centre, creating a space for guests to grow their own fruit and veg, learn about sustainability and enjoy getting their hands dirty.

A simple build, but one with a genuinely worthwhile purpose. 💚

“We’d like a low-maintenance front garden.”

“No problem.”

“…Can we also squeeze another 80 plants into a much bigger ground bed? We’d like plenty of colour, please.”

“Errr… yeah. That’s something we can do.” 😂

“Lastly, can you turf the entire lawn in between two of the longest, hottest heatwaves North Wales has ever experienced?”

“Challenge accepted!” 😂🌿

Beautiful new front garden completed in early July — and now, fully knitted in and looking extremely healthy.

It’s already the envy of the street. 👀🌿
Fair play to the client for keeping it all alive over the last 5 weeks 👏

Full garden turfs undertaken.
(Spring and autumn are usually best — when the weather does some of the watering for you. Hot hot summer… not so much. 😂💦)

Warning: Side effects may include eating breakfast outside, making unnecessary cups of tea just to stand in the garden, and catching the neighbours pretending they weren't looking over the fence.
