Floor completed at the property in Upton, returned today to fit the basin splash back as a free extra as the existing tiles fell off the wall whilst putting the pedestal back 🫣

The Loo was supposed to go back but after discovering a number of leaks despite replacing the fill valve and tap connector the cistern gave up whilst angle grinding the rusty bolts off the old cistern fitting kit.
The decision was made to replace the bowl and cistern for a new set and have it fitted by a plumber instead but I may return to silicone around the pedestal with the grout matching anthracite should the customer wish.

The property in Upton has now been completely tiled. The hallway loo and right hand side of the kitchen are ready to grout on Monday and the customer gets the satisfaction of kicking out the clips on the left side and utility.
These areas will be cleaned and prepped next week. All the doors went back on for the weekend and none required adjustment which saved some time.

The customer had chosen “Anthracite” grout.

This is Cyril……………. Cyril is friends with the two cats Shadow and Luna and is happy to be hand fed. He had a good look at the proceedings today and no doubt will discuss progress with the cats at some point after I leave.

Tomorrow I’ll have to bring some nuts as well as another box of Lickie Licks 🐿️😻

I re planned the layout this morning to allow for better cuts around the perimeter of the kitchen and got sticking. A good chunk glued with a view to completing the hallway and kitchen tomorrow leaving the Loo and Utility for Friday.

I’d completely forgotten Shadow had a sister, the second joint property owner is called Luna, and between them they agreed the supplied Lickie Licks are adequate and are happy for me to continue.
Existing floor covering lifted and floor ground flat in the W/C. All architraves trimmed and floors primed using Kerakoll Prime Plus as Taylor Wimpy couldn’t confirm whether the screed was regular or a Calcium Sulphate screed so I’m airing on the side of caution and prepping it as if it were the latter. It’ll either be prepped correctly or over killed, I’d rather be sure than walking away from a floor doomed to fail.

Back tomorrow to start sticking wood effect planks down using a random staggered configuration.

Looking forward to removing this click vinyl flooring at a property in Upton next week after the expansion gap used allowed the planks to constantly separate.
The customer is using a wood-effect porcelain tile and it’ll be laid in a random staggered configuration, the grout colour is yet to be confirmed.

The owners and primary customer of this particular property is called “Shadow” a stern looking character and obviously the one to impress but made even more difficult as she’ll be returning from an early follow up appointment prior to my arrival at the vets after having teeth removed earlier in the week 😾.

My choice of bribe therefore will be Lickie Licks rather than Dreamies.
