Fake Tree Observation Post of WW1
Credit: Imperial War Museum in London

-----------------------------------------
Because the front was constantly watched by the enemy, one just couldn’t erect a new tree, because any new tree appearing out of nowhere would have instantly drawn attraction and fire. The fake tree had to replace an existing tree.
A dead tree, blasted by a bomb, located ideally near the trenches was chosen. The tree was then photographed and extensively studied, measurements taken and sketches made. A hollow, steel replica was then made in the workshop far behind the lines. At night, under the cover of darkness and artillery fire, the real tree was felled and the fake one installed in its place. The artillery fire also drowned out the noise of the work.

I was asked by a client. For “JENGA” written in stone. On a stone of there choice. That they supplied themselves. In honer of the recently passed dog “JENGA”. Considering letter cutting is something I’ve never really done much of over the years I was happy with the results. And I hope they are🤞meanwhile Charlie-May Crouch crouch best friends pet rabbit died. Therefore only seemed fair. That whilst I had the letter cutting kit out. That here rabbit sisi was eternally remembered in stone also.
And of course Charlie
Couldn’t be left out she had to have her initials on a paperweight inside a heart ❤️ enojyed doing them. Took my mind off everything💪💪Please share! Tia

Hello everyone,

Just letting everybody know. That I’m going to start quoting jobs again now the weathers coming back. It’s been a long cold winter in the quarry🥶. And looking forward to getting back on site this summer☀️🌞🔆
And also just to get everyone interested. Here are the drawings for ’s Firplace. Which I hand crafted personally myself. I bought a pair of his sunglasses in honour of this for my holliday. Which was very nice by the way.
Thanks for taking time.
Sam
Also please feel free to like and share my post for me. Cheers👍👍

Hi guys,

I have such a back log from since I first started of different jobs I’ve done.
So expect to be bombarded with posts of work I’ve completed.
Starting from the beginning, I was taking on jobs in central london as I’d just started out and was taking what I could, regardless of the travelling.
Anyhow here’s some Portland stone copings that I personally hand crafted and fixed into place. Thanks for taking the time to view 👍👍

Hi everyone,

Hope your all enjoying your Sunday. I haven’t posted in a while due to being inundated with work. Therefore I thought I’d introduce myself as I’ve never done this before and some may not know who I am. This will also give me chance to gather photos of recent projects I’ve been working on…

I’m Samuel, I studied for 3 years at Bath College, the leading college for stonemasonry, back in 2004. Passing with Distinction.
How I fell in to stonemasonry was pure fluke. Taking it right back to school day’s when I was too lazy to even choose a work experience position. This meant I was left with either a supermarket or a stone masons yard. I’m sure you can guess which I chose. Little did I know it would end up being my passion!
I’ve been lucky enough to be trained by many award winning stonemasons from all over Europe.
Over the years I have been employed and subcontracted to some well known companies in the UK. Gaining skills and passing on to others who have gone on to start their own businesses. I’ve worked on many Ministry of Defence bases, Althorp Estate, a new build castle, hand crafted David Beckhams fireplace and many other celebrities homes. As well as smaller projects in villages within Northamptonshire and West Berkshire.
One of my proudest moments was entering a stonemasonry competition in France, placing second (France is known for their stonemasonry skills).
Other than stonemasonry, my other passion is taking selfie’s 😂 thought I’d drop a mess around photo of the face behind the business.

Here’s the follow up photos to a fallen wall restoration project that I completed not so long ago 😍👌
