I planted this space up in the autumn which, although a great time to plant, it does mean you don’t actually get to see much until 6+ months later 😅

Now we’re seeing everything coming to life! Only one casualty which has been replaced, everything else is thriving!

I can’t wait to see this space in another month or so when the grasses have all grown and the verbena and hebes are flowering 💜

Planting up the cutting garden 💐

We still have a small pace for the remaining dahlias and perhaps a few cornflowers but the rest is now full!

We have thalictrum, peonies, dahlias, foxgloves, delphiniums, statice, penstemon, anemones, roses, ammi and aquilegia.
I can’t wait to see this space full of flowers 😍

Jungle vibes 🌿

Im very much a cottage garden gardener so creating a jungle theme was quite a project! But I’m so so pleased with this space and my client is too, phew 😅

We still have Hakonechloa ‘Sunny Delight’ to add to this space as well as a Musa Basjoo (banana) and a mix of red and white Pom Pom dahlias 😍

Excited to see this space fill out into a lush, tropical, calming area 🪴

A 30 metre long slim strip that runs alongside the driveway.
Most people would ignore this space but when you see it every single day it’s important it brings you joy 🌱

We’ve gone for low maintenance but full of colour and texture!

Taxus baccata cones for structure
Ferns for year round greenery and softness
White foxgloves for height
A mix of pink and blue geraniums to flow over the edges and bring lots of colour
Nepeta that will also burst out open the edges and flower for ages

Keeping on top of the maintenance is just as important as planting up.
Next I’ll be adding more ground cover to this space, mostly hardy geraniums and alpines as they’re well suited to this environment 🌱

How’s this for a before & after? 🤩

This project (alongside looking after the rest of the garden) started last year. In the next month I’ll be planting loads of Dahlias, Lillie’s, statice and more to create a gorgeous cut flower garden 💐

I can’t wait to see this space just full of flowers 🌺
