Experienced PAT Testing Subcontractor Wanted – North East England

DRA PAT Testing is looking to establish a working relationship with an experienced, reliable, self-employed PAT testing engineer based in the North East.

We’re an established PAT testing specialist with a strong reputation for quality, professionalism and customer service. We’re looking for someone who shares those values and would be interested in supporting our existing engineering team with additional work as required.

We’re looking for someone who:

* Has proven experience carrying out commercial PAT testing independently.
* Takes pride in thorough inspections, accurate testing and professional reporting.
* Is reliable, presentable and comfortable dealing directly with customers.
* Is happy to work to DRA’s established procedures and quality standards.
* Is willing to use our reporting systems and represent DRA professionally, including wearing agreed company-branded clothing.
* Has suitable qualifications, equipment and insurance.
* Is based in Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland or the surrounding area.

Work would be offered on an agreed subcontract basis, depending on availability and business requirements. There are no guaranteed hours or minimum workload.

We’re not simply looking for someone to complete tests. We’re looking for someone we can trust to represent our business and maintain the standards our customers expect.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please get in touch with a little information about yourself, your experience, location and current availability.

Great Review Alert: "we had the pleasure of Ben to conduct our annual PAT testing. He was on time, professional, a great communicator and gave some great advice about one of our electrical appliances, including how to spot a fake and risky electrical product.
From booking in our test date to completion it was seamless.
We always used DRA and wouldn’t go anywhere else. "

⚠️ Is your PAT testing overdue?

Many businesses don’t realise they’re at risk until there’s a failed inspection, an insurance issue, or worse — an electrical incident.

If you spot any of these signs, it may be time to book a PAT test 👇

✔️ Missing or outdated labels
✔️ Old extension leads
✔️ Damaged plugs or cables
✔️ No test records

PAT testing isn’t just a tick-box exercise — it protects your staff, customers, and business.

Can you help?

I'm looking for one exceptional person to join our team at DRA PAT Testing.

Over the last few weeks I've spent a lot of time redesigning a role within the business, and I'm now looking for an Operations Coordinator.

This isn't just an admin job.

I'm looking for someone who enjoys organising things, planning ahead, improving systems and taking ownership. Someone who'll help keep the business running smoothly while I spend more time supporting our engineers, meeting customers and developing the business.

The role is approximately 24 flexible hours per week, hybrid working, with a salary of £21,216–£24,960 per year (equivalent to a full-time salary of £35,360–£41,600), depending on experience.

We're a small, friendly team and I genuinely believe DRA is a great place to work. We trust our people, we value family life and we believe flexibility works both ways.

If this sounds like you, or you know someone who'd be perfect, I'd love to hear from you.

Just email me at [email protected] and I'll send over our Candidate Information Pack.

I'd really appreciate it if you could share this post too. You never know who might be looking for exactly this sort of opportunity.

Thank you!

Richard
