A New Chapter for Water Solutions Ireland! 🎉

We're delighted to share that we've submitted plans for a brand-new purpose-built headquarters in Carnbane Business Park, Newry, just around the corner from our existing offices.

The development represents a significant investment by Patrick Cunningham, Contracts Director, and Conor McKeown, Commercial Director at WSI. This is a huge milestone for our business and an exciting step towards the future.

Our new headquarters will provide the space we need to support our growing team, encourage collaboration and continue delivering high-quality water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. 💧

We're incredibly proud to be staying in Carnbane Business Park, the area we've proudly called home since 2014. Subject to planning approval, we hope to complete our new headquarters by July 2028, and we can't wait to share our journey with you along the way.

A huge thank you to our amazing team, clients and partners for their continued support. This exciting new chapter wouldn't be possible without you. 🩵💚

🎓 Celebrating Our Recent Graduates!

A huge congratulations to three members of the Water Solutions Ireland team on graduating with First Class Honours after completing their studies through our Graduate Placement Programme. 👏

🎉 Fionna Fitzpatrick – First Class Honours (1:1) in Construction Management, Liverpool John Moores University, and recipient of the Chartered Institute of Building Certificate of Excellence.

🎉 Johnny McGivern – First Class Honours (1:1) in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management, Ulster University, and recipient of the Programme Director Certificate.

🎉 Cian McElroy – First Class Honours (1:1) in Mechatronic Engineering, Ulster University.

We're incredibly proud of everything they've achieved and delighted they're continuing their careers with us. Their success reflects the talent, dedication and bright future within our team. 💙💚

🌞WSI Summer Social 😎

Yesterday, the Water Solutions Ireland team enjoyed our summer social at Prison Island Belfast, where teamwork, problem-solving and a healthy dose of friendly competition were put to the test.

The biggest challenge of the day was surviving the heat inside!🥵🤣

After earning our freedom, we headed to Deanes Meat Locker for a fantastic meal and a chance to cool down.

A great day from start to finish – great company, great food and great craic. Thanks to everyone who made it such a good one! 👏🎉 💙💚

A huge congratulations to our Placement Student, Grace Hand, on an outstanding achievement at Ulster University's Quantity Surveying programme, where she received an incredible THREE awards in recognition of her academic excellence! 🤩 🎉

Receiving one award is an achievement in itself, but to be recognised with three is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment Grace has shown throughout her studies.

A warm welcome to our new batch of placement recruits who joined Water Solutions Ireland this week!👋

We're delighted to have Odhran, Niamh, Fiona, Grace, Charlotte and Aaron joining us this year. Coming to us from Queen's University Belfast and Ulster University, they are studying Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management, and Construction, Engineering and Management.

Over the coming months, they'll gain hands-on experience, work alongside our teams, and get involved in a variety of projects across the business.
We look forward to supporting them on their placement journey and seeing the fresh ideas and enthusiasm they bring to WSI. 🌟

Proud day for the team at WSI as we welcomed Eoin Caughey from Cancer Focus Northern Ireland into our offices, to mark the £1576 raised for this wonderful charity, through our fundraising efforts at the Belfast City Marathon. 🏃 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraising page and cheered for our two relay teams along the route - every step and bead of sweat was worth it knowing we were running for a charity that provides incredible support to cancer patients and their families right across Northern Ireland. 🫶 🩵

It was an amazing team effort for a cause close to so many people’s hearts - a huge pat on the back to all involved...you did us all proud! 👏🥇💙💚

🥁 Drumming Up Support for Workplace Mental Health 💚

Yesterday, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we treated the team to lunch before welcoming Joe from The Gathering Drum in for a music therapy drumming session — and safe to say there were some hidden talents… and some people who definitely won’t be leaving their day jobs! 🙉

It was a great way for the team to switch off from the day-to-day, relieve a bit of stress, with plenty of laugh therapy thrown in for good measure! 🤣

A big thanks to Joe from The Gathering Drum for bringing the energy and helping us mark Mental Health Awareness Week in a fun and different way! 🪘💚 🧠

We’re delighted to announce that we are finalists in two categories at the prestigious UK-wide Water Industry Awards 2026 🏆 for our client NI Water’s Energy Reduce Use Pump Optimisation Programme.

Alongside our JV partner GEDA Construction and our client Northern Ireland Water, we’re shortlisted in the following categories:

- Alliance or Partnership of the Year 🤝
- Asset Management Initiative of the Year ⚙️

Being recognised at a UK-wide level highlights the strength of our collaboration and the impact of working together to deliver more energy-efficient and sustainable solutions across the water sector. 🌍💧

The awards ceremony will take place on 24th June at The Vox, Birmingham.
