The problem had been caused by a combination of inadequate insulation and non-breathable roofing felt, which prevented proper airflow within the roof space. This trapped moisture over time, leading to heavy condensation build-up and widespread mould growth.

By stripping the affected ceiling back, we were able to expose the underlying issues and begin the process of correcting the ventilation and insulation problems properly.

The additional insulation helps improve thermal performance and energy efficiency while creating a more comfortable living environment for tenants. Once insulated, the ceiling was overboarded and prepared ready for finishing.
