Grape vines are robust plants, everything has a lifespan but with proper care and pruning they can last for generations. This clients vine was old, weary, and susceptible to disease- two years in a row it’s fruits failed and sadly yielded nothing like it had in previous years
We took last winter to go big on its regenerative prune, along with the annual mulching and feed from the gardens compost to regenerate the soil; this summer, even with the draught, the leaves are lush and the grapes are back! Providing a beautiful display, and soon to be plentiful food source for the local wildlife
Healthy soil = Healthy garden

Today's private garden tour at Charleston Trust house and garden with .saxatilis left us feeling incredibly inspired. The garden was a springtime wonderland, with vibrant tulips stealing the show. This garden is a true gem, boasting an array of textures, colours and lush foliage. The colour palette of the blooms is reminiscent of the beautiful artwork created within the house. We were especially taken by the garden's creative use of natural materials and clever techniques for training vines and roses.
