💡 Illuminated Sign Refurbishment – Ryde Superbowl 💡

We were recently called out to the Superbowl bowling alley in Ryde to investigate a faulty illuminated sign. After inspection, we found the sign had suffered significant water ingress, causing the internal electrics to fail.

With the assistance from our friends over at Beardsalls print - design - sign we managed to carry out;

- Full strip-down and refurbishment
- Removal of damaged components
- Installation of new energy-efficient LED lighting
- Brand new signage panel fitted
- Fully tested and recommissioned

The result is a bright, reliable and energy-efficient illuminated sign, bringing the frontage back to life again.

🔌 EICR Testing – Landlords, Homeowners & Businesses 🔌

We’ve recently had quite a few people asking if we carry out EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) — and the answer is YES, we certainly do.

We provide electrical inspection and testing for domestic, rental and commercial properties across the Isle of Wight.

For landlords, an EICR is now a LEGAL requirement and as alot of us know - failure to comply can result in fines of up to £40,000.

A callout for a shower not working which resulted in finding it very badly burnt out..

This was a pumped shower which had been previously installed fed from a hot water tank, meaning when the tank ran out of water the shower was trying to heat water which is not there.. this is a NO NO!

A new shower installed alongside a plumber we organised to install the new plumbing correctly.

⚡️A callout for an electric shower not working ⚡️

This week we attended a callout where an electric shower had stopped producting hot water. After inspection, we found signs of overheating/burning inside the unit!

🚨 Important: If your electric shower stops working, trips the electrics, smells hot, or shows any signs of burning, do not keep trying to turn it back on. Continuing to use it can cause further damage and may lead to melted wiring, blown components, or even a fire risk.

Always isolate the shower if possible and call a qualified electrician to safely diagnose and repair the fault.

An emergency callout due to loss of lighting where unfortunately someone had drilled through a cable!

With some investigation as to where the cable was and a hole made for access we managed to swiftly make a repair and re-energize the lighting circuit for an elderly lady 💡
