A society for anyone who is interested in knowing and experiencing Malaysian culture in Newcastle. We provide a fabulous social platform for Malaysian students and other communities around the University to meet new people and to exchange cultural experiences. MALSOC organise a wide range of social events including mini trips, Malaysain style socials, festive celebrations (Dwali, Hari Raya, Chinese New Year etc) Annual Malaysian night, karaoke and the list goes on.

Hiiii there, my name is Louis and I’ll be the Welfare Officer for Newcastle Malaysian Society term 26/27. I’m a 2nd Year Student in Medicine, so I’m chronically tired and need caffeine almost everyday 😭🫩. I’m from Ipoh, so when people ask me what to eat, I usually jawab all types of chicken 🍗. I’m an introvert, but if you get to know me more, you’ll find out that I talk more than most extroverts 🤓.

Hey everyone! I’m Zhi Shian Wong, and I’ll be taking on the role of President for Newcastle Malaysian Society (Malsoc) for the 26/27 tenure! 🇲🇾✨

I’m currently studying Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and I’m proudly from Johor — Johor represent!! 😎 HAHAHA. As a certified extrovert, I’m always up for meeting new people, having a good chat, and making new memories together. Outside of studies, you’ll probably find me enjoying music or getting involved in any kind of sports (yes, any sport counts hehe 🏃‍♂️🎶).

Hello everyone, my name is James and I am your events and sports director for 26/27. I am currently studying year 3 Economics. I grew up in the UK and my mother is from Ipoh Perak. I enjoy quite a variety of activities, sports and involvement in various organisations. I really look forward to meeting you all and for all of the fun we shall share together.
