Call to a customer whose sockets were making the RCD trip. Located issue in the utility room area. Although back boxes showed signs of moisture had been present all seemed ok. But after getting tester out round ring was ok but this small spur wire failed IR test and after removal and replacement found the damage to the cable. Must been like that for around 10years. Circuit rechecked and power restored.

⚡ MAKIN ELECTRICAL – Emergency Call-Out ⚡
Attended a property today after the RCD kept tripping and shutting the power down. After carrying out full testing and fault-finding, the culprit was found — a faulty hot water motorised valve. 💧🔧

We traced the issue, isolated it safely, and the plumber was called in to replace the valve. Once the system is drained and valve swapped out, everything will back running as it should. ✔️

If your RCD is tripping, don’t leave it—there’s always a reason behind it. Makin Electrical is here to help. ⚡

Homeowners & Landlords: Is Your Electrical System Up to Date?

An outdated electrical system can mean higher bills, safety risks, and limited capacity for today’s technology. Whether you’re managing your own home or rental properties, an electrical upgrade is a smart investment.

Here’s why it matters:

⚡ Lower Energy Bills – New systems improve efficiency, saving you—and your tenants—money every month.

⚡ Protect Your Property – Outdated wiring and overloaded panels are leading causes of house fires. Stay safe and code-compliant.

⚡ Support Modern Living – Smart thermostats, EV chargers, home offices, and solar panels all need a system that can handle the load.

⚡ Boost Property Value & Rental Appeal – Modern electrical systems are a key selling point and attract quality tenants.

Don’t wait until a costly repair—or worse, an emergency—forces your hand.
Upgrade now and future-proof your investment.

Consult a certified electrician to assess your system today.
