Last weekend was something very different for us.

This time, the spotlight was firmly on Izzy and Snelsmore Mystique.

Recently, Izzy and Mystique were lucky enough to win a Golden Ticket for the Veteran Horse Supreme at Arena UK, at the National Shetland Performance Show. What an amazing opportunity for them both.

From the moment the weekend began, it was a real team effort to make it all possible. Thank you to everyone who played a part in giving Izzy and Mystique such a wonderful experience.

A huge thank you to The Shetland Performance Show for giving Izzy and Mystique their Golden Ticket and making this all possible.

A very special thank you to Cliff, who made the three-hour journey there and the three-hour journey home, just to make sure they could be part of the occasion.

And, of course, a massive well done to Carol, who travelled the country to collect Izzy, get her safely to the show, and then make sure she was home again in time for school on Monday morning.

Being chosen in the top ten was such a good achievement, but for us, this was about so much more than winning rosettes. It was about the journey, the experience, the memories and, most importantly, the long-lasting friendship and bond between Izzy and Mystique.

Watching them together and seeing how much trust they have for each other makes us incredibly proud.

Well, done, Izzy and Mystique. You truly did us proud.

Sienna Finishes Her Summer on a High.

Well, that’s a wrap on Snelsmore Sienna’s summer showing and what a summer it has been! 🏆

Finishing as Champion at the Edenbridge & Oxted Show was the icing on the cake. ❤️ We’ve had so much fun with Sienna throughout the summer, she has been a pleasure every step of the way.
But now motherhood is calling, and Sienna is looking very much in foal! 🥰 She will joined her friends in the paddocks for the winter, where she can enjoy some well-earned time off before welcoming her new arrival next year.

Our ever-consistent Snelsmore Blossom never fails to please and once again produced a fantastic performance, finishing Reserve Champion. 🌟

We also decided that Snelsmore Venus could join Sienna. Both mares have had a fantastic summer, making some amazing memories along the way. Now it’s time for them to have some chill-out time doing what Shetlands do best over the winter. enjoying plenty of time in the paddocks and just being Shetlands!

🥰 We can’t wait to meet their babies next year and see what exciting little arrivals they bring. 💕🐴

And now it’s time for us to turn our attention to the yearlings and foals and see what the next generation has in store.

🌧️ Bucks County Show – what a day! ☀️

We wanted and needed some rain, but perhaps not at the Bucks County Show! I don’t think the skies were listening to me… although, thankfully, we did get some sunshine too! 😂

It was an early 4.00am start, in the rain and still in my PJs, so I knew the day could only get better, and it certainly did!

Snelsmore Blossom absolutely loves showing, whatever the weather. She was reunited with Sallye and went on to take Reserve Miniature Champion to Snelsmore Venus as the Miniature Champion. 🌸🏆

Once we had finished the mornings showing, the sun finally came out just in time for a cup of tea then onto the Supreme classes. Venus was Reserve M&M Small Breed Champion, followed by a wonderful spin around the Main Ring in the Price Family In-hand Supreme.

To be able to represent the Shetland breed in the main ring was incredibly special, and we are so proud of our ponies. ❤️

A long day, but one filled with wonderful results, and of course, ice cream! 🍦
What more could we ask for? A truly lovely day at the Bucks County Show. 💕

It’s been a busy week here at Snelsmore, and I’ve finally found a moment to write our post! 🐴

Last weekend we headed up to the Minsterley Show, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! A true agricultural show with something for everyone. 🌾🐴

We were absolutely delighted with our two ponies. Snelsmore Sieanna was second in her class, while little Snelsmore Blossom took everything in her stride, loving the busy atmosphere of the show ring. She strutted her way to Miniature Champion, followed by Overall Shetland Champion! 🏆✨

Later in the day, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to represent the Shetlands in the main ring, bringing a fantastic day to a close. It was a long but incredibly rewarding day.

It was also lovely to see several other Snelsmore ponies having a successful weekend with their owners. A huge well done to Thumbelina, Uylana and Aurelia we are super proud of you all and love seeing our ponies out there enjoying themselves and doing so well!

Sometimes things happen for a reason…

After missing the NPS Summer Championships due to a paperwork error at the plating station, we tried our hardest to get everything sorted, but unfortunately time just ran out for us.
Once the MOT was finally sorted and we were back on the road, we decided that Snelsmore Venus having missed the NPS show could join the two ponies we had already entered for the Downs Shetland Pony Group Show later in the week — and what a decision that turned out to be!

Our novice, Snelsmore Zoe, was an absolute star. She performed foot-perfect in the ring, and we couldn’t be happier with the attitude of this lovely little mare.
Snelsmore Sieanna was awarded Reserve Senior Champion, while Snelsmore Venus took Senior Championship, Reserve Miniature Champion, and then went on to be The Reserve Supreme of Show!

We are absolutely thrilled with all three ponies and so proud of them.
A huge thank you to everyone at the Downs Shetland Pony Group Show for a wonderful day, and to everyone who helped and supported us along the way.

Motherhood just wasn't meant for Snelsmore Zoe. After only covering her the once, we were fully prepared for her to become a show pony, but nature had other ideas.

She gave birth to a beautiful coloured c**t by Snelsmore Ulysses, but sadly, with no milk and awkwardly positioned teats, it was a real struggle from the very beginning. He tried so hard, but in the end, infection took the better of him. Heartbreakingly, it just wasn't meant to be. Somehow, Zoe seemed to know and quietly walked away.
The irony was that she had no milk when she foaled, yet when we were trying to dry her up afterwards, she dripped milk for weeks.

So tomorrow, Zoe is coming along for the ride to her very first show. She won't be competing in any classes, but that's not the point. Tomorrow is about giving her a happy, positive experience, enjoying the day together, and embracing new beginnings. ❤️ Here's to the start of Zoe's next chapter as a show pony.

We're delighted to announce that our two young c**ts, Snelsmore Aragorn and Snelsmore Barolo have both recently passed their voluntary vetting with flying colours. Both c**ts also tested clear for Skeletal Atavism (SA), so the future looks incredibly bright for these two handsome boys, and we're excited to watch them continue to develop!

After recovering from another long, hot day at the Royal Welsh Show, we can look back on another enjoyable visit. Although it hasn't always been our luckiest show, it's an event we always look forward to and a real highlight of the showing calendar. It's always lovely to catch up with distant friends, and it was especially nice to see Snelsmore Uylana and Snelsmore Auriella again, both looking so well.

We're incredibly proud of our two girls, who gave me everything I could have asked for and truly showed their socks off.

Snelsmore Blossom was awarded a second place from a class of fifteen. She thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the big ring, performed beautifully, and felt completely at home.

Snelsmore Venus also rose to the occasion, behaving impeccably and giving a lovely performance to take fourth place in a strong mare class.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and helped make it another memorable Royal Welsh Show.
