Another roof maintenance job completed by the SDF Roofing team ✅

We removed all the old, failing cement work to the gable ends, valleys and ridge tiles, before fully re-bedding and pointing everything with fresh mortar.

This one took some materials too… around 1½ tonnes of sand and 15 bags of cement! 💪

5 days from start to finish, with all old mortar and waste removed from site and everything left clean and tidy.

And this was also the maiden voyage for the new drone 🎥🚁 — so be kind with the flying! 😂

Another roof brought back up to scratch and ready to face the weather.

This tired, ageing flat roof has been completely upgraded into a modern, warm roof system that's built to last.

✅ Firring strips installed to improve the roof falls and allow better water run-off
✅ Vapour control layer fitted
✅ 150mm rigid insulation installed to create a warm roof and improve energy efficiency
✅ New OSB3 deck fitted
✅ Armourplan Roofing System professionally installed
✅ New fascia boards and guttering fitted
✅ Seamlessly joined onto the Armourplan roof we installed 12 years ago, making the whole roof easy to maintain for years to come.

As part of the project we also removed the old parapet walls and the restrictive drainage outlet, creating a much more effective drainage system and eliminating a common cause of standing water.

We've recently supplied and fitted an Armourplan Roofing Systems membrane to the rear flat roofs of these new-build properties in Sheffield. The installation has gone smoothly, with all roof details carefully completed ready for the next stage.

We'll be returning shortly to install the roof drainage outlets once they're ready to be fitted, ensuring the system is completed to the highest standard.

🔨 Flat Roof Replacement Completed 🔨

This flat roof had previously been covered with an EPDM rubber roofing system using loose-laid ballast stone. Unfortunately, the roof had failed around the perimeter edges, allowing water to track beneath the membrane and compromise the waterproofing.

Our team removed the existing ballast and failed EPDM system before carrying out a full refurbishment:

✅ Removed existing EPDM membrane and ballast stone
✅ Stripped roof back and inspected deck
✅ Installed new 18mm OSB3 decking throughout
✅ Fitted a brand-new EPDM rubber roofing system fully adhered to the deck
✅ Renewed perimeter details and weatherproofing
✅ Left the customer with a durable, long-lasting waterproof roof

A fully adhered EPDM system provides a much more secure installation, reducing the risk of movement and edge failures while delivering excellent long-term performance.
