Springwood Tree Services employs a team of fully qualified, fully insured tree surgeons & outdoor contractors with over 20 years of professional arboricultural experience. We can help with ALL aspects of tree care & conservation including�

RECRUITING for TWO EXPERIENCED ARBORIST CLIMBERS/TEAM LEADERS

We are actively looking for two more experienced climbers to join our team on a full time PAYE basis.

We’re an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor with a busy mix of commercial, domestic, Local Authority and estate work – and we’re looking for experienced arb climbers who want to be part of a solid team producing high-quality work.

What we’re offering you:
• £38 - £42k PAYE (dependent upon experience)
• Hardworking loyal team to lead
• Mon - Fri 7.30am - 4pm (with weekend and weekday overtime available)
• Varied work - some big days, some more chilled ones…
• Training and additional qualifications encouraged - all led by you
• All PPE provided
• At least 28 days holiday (and your birthday off)
• Recognised pension scheme
• Monthly Physio, Chiro or Osteo appointments

Our workload is varied and ranges from full dismantles and site clearances to grounds maintenance, tree-planting & installing wildlife habitats, as well as surveys and everything in between.

What we’d like from you:

We are looking for someone loyal & trustworthy who already has expert knowledge of the industry. You will be someone who takes great pride in your work with a strong focus on nature and the environment. An integral part of Springwood, you will be confident in leading a team to deliver the highest standards of work, efficiency, productivity & customer service regardless of the job.

Your main duties will include:

* Leading daily tree surgery operations on site
* Performing advanced climbing, pruning, dismantling and felling
* Working alongside Team Lead Groundies to ensure safe working practices
* Communicating clearly with clients, managers and team members
* Maintaining equipment, plant, vehicles, and PPE to a high standard

This is a hands-on role suited to a confident climber who takes pride in quality workmanship and teamwork.

Ideal experience:
- 3+ years climbing
- Self-motivation and a solid understanding of modern arb techniques
- A proactive attitude and strong leadership

We require the following NPTC qualifications as a minimum:
Full UK driving licence
CS30, CS31, CS38 & CS39 - as a minimum
CS40, 41 & 47 - (preferred but not essential)
Use of a Woodchipper
First Aid +F (preferred but not essential)
CSCS Card (preferred but not essential)

Training/refreshers can always be arranged.

🌳 S T A N D D O W N D A Y 🌳

Taking a day off the tools is an important part of keeping our teams safe on them…

Giving us time to bring everyone together, stand down days enable us to review how we work and give training, equipment and safety our full attention.

They’re a chance to practice skills, revisit emergency procedures, check kit and talk through the things we’ve encountered on site. Crucially, they give everyone space to ask questions, raise concerns and share their experiences.

In tree work, conditions change and quick decisions matter. Keeping our standards high takes regular practice, honest conversations and a team that feels confident speaking up.

Making time for this helps us look after each other, deliver a better service for our clients and get everyone home safely 🍃

Thrilled with our three trainees - Lewis, Max and Tyler, who have all flown through their NPTC Level 2 Award in Tree Climbing and Rescue (or CS38 in old money…) this week.

Not sure anything makes us more proud than trainers and assessors telling us how brilliant our team are and that’s exactly what happened this time too - incredible job lads, thank you!

We invest so much in training not only to enable us to complete our work safely, but also to encourage both personal and professional growth in our team… we now have a full house of aerial rescue qualified ops and we’re sending more of the gang out to undergo CS30 and 31 (Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting and Felling Small Trees up to 380mm) refreshers, training and assessments next week 😮‍💨

What a fantastic day at Thoresby Park for the wonderful This is Farming show 🌳🚜

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Springwood Tree Services stand today. It was brilliant to catch up with familiar faces, meet so many new people and talk all things arb.

Delivering two live demonstrations (a professional work climb and a realistic live aerial rescue scenario), was a real treat for the team. It was a great opportunity to show the skill, training and teamwork that go into working safely in our industry every single day, and the crowds certainly didn’t disappoint!

We were also chuffed to welcome Clarksons Farm’s very own Harriet Cowan to the stand - she took to tree climbing like an absolute natural!🌳

We’re incredibly proud of the whole Springwood team. They gave up their Saturday, represented the business brilliantly and demonstrated exactly what we’re about: professionalism, safety and high standards.

A massive thank you to the organisers, Bede Events & The Thoresby Park team, for putting on such a fantastic event, and to everyone who came over to support us. We loved every minute and are already looking forward to next year!

💪🏻 One last push before the big day tomorrow…

North Clifton Primary School have just recieved the most incredible OFSTED report (FOUR strongs and two expecteds…) and as a tiny school, that is not an easy thing to do!

We’d love to raise as much as possible by tackling Tough Mudder UK tomorrow morning so we can treat the staff and pupils to something really lovely to celebrate the end of the best term ever…

So, if you like the thought of us and our gang swimming in mud (literally), getting shocked by up to 10,000 volts, carrying each other (tree surgeons are HEAVY), being submerged in freezing cold water and having to run in the heat of tomorrow whilst throwing ourselves over ludicrously high obstacles, then we would REALLY appreciate it if you showed your joy by popping whatever you can over via our donations page!
