We have been delighted to help The Luxe Barber, in Hull Road, Hessle, look a cut above the competition with this stunning transformation of the shop front.

Our team removed a tired, old-fashioned wooden shop frontage to install the very latest high-performance UPVC windows and glazing.

Having fitted out the premises to a high specification inside, with a modern black and grey colour scheme, the owner turned to EYG to achieve the same impressive look on the exterior.

This was achieved with the installation of 70mm black UPVC windows, which offer high-performance levels for energy and security, with 6.8mm security and safety glass offering extra levels of protection.

The windows meet Secured by Design standards, an official UK police initiative that certifies products as meeting the highest security standards, to help prevent crime.

We also supplied and fitted a heavy-duty commercial entrance door with a concealed closer, chosen to cope with high footfall and usage, with stainless steel furniture giving it a sleek appearance.

The owner said: “We’re delighted with how the shop looks, the quality of the products, and the installation from EYG. We wanted it to look modern and be of high-quality, and it looks great.”

The highly-rated barber shop offers professional grooming services for men and has established a strong reputation for customer satisfaction and quality, boasting an exceptional five-star Google rating from reviews.

SUPPORT SARAH TO FUND ESSENTIAL CANCER TREATMENT

Our team at EYG is reaching out to our followers to support one of our team at a time of great difficulty for his family.

Sarah Carr, wife of our project manager Jeff and mother to their two young daughters, has skin cancer which has spread to her pancreas and her shoulder blade, placing her at stage 4.

She has been told surgery would not be successful and although she has been offered one final treatment option, it carries severe side effects and has a low success rate.

Jeff’s family and friends are now fundraising to seek possible alternative treatments overseas for Sarah which could offer new hope. They are fighting to give Sarah the best possible chance for the future.

This of course comes at significant cost, especially as Sarah has had to take considerable time off from the job she loves as a police officer, and Jeff also to look after his loved ones.

Melanoma is the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, with cases rising. Sarah's only symptom was a mole on her back which had existed for years before it began to grow.

INVESTMENT AND NEW PRODUCTS TO HELP BUILD ON SUCCESSFUL 2025

2025 saw EYG's domestic sales division enjoy a 15% sales surge, whilst our commercial business further strengthened its reputation through its work on large scale projects, with a string of impressive installations.

With continued investment in new products, equipment and systems planned, managing director Nick Ward says 2026 can bring more success for the business.

“I’m thrilled with how we performed as a business in 2025. We did well across all areas of the business, but to achieve 15% growth in domestic sales over the past year, in what has been an uncertain economic market, has been outstanding and testament to our reputation,” he said.

Mr Ward says the performance of EYG's commercial division, which supplies and installs windows and doors nationally for hotels, care homes, residential developments, new build houses, schools, colleges, and offices, will again be key.

Its work to glaze the Monocle development in Hull brought significant acclaim last year, and stood alongside other significant contracts across Yorkshire in the education sector and new-build housing, working for clients including Beal Homes and Mulgrave Properties.

National award shortlisting for EYG's Monocle glazing installation! 📢

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for a national industry award for our work in helping to transform one of the Hull’s most prominent buildings – and overcoming numerous logistical and installation challenges in doing so.

The glazing installation on the curved façade of the ‘Monocle’ development by our team at EYG Commercial has impressed judges at the 2026 GGP magazine (Glass and Glazing Products) Installer Awards, who have named us a finalist in the category for the UK’s best installation on a commercial single building.

Judges were looking for examples of projects which not only looked impressive when completed but demonstrated the ability of businesses to overcome unusual challenges and comply with the highest industry standards.
Working for developers Allenby Commercial, we installed 400 1m x2.6m glazed units and used a high-performance curtain walling system from suppliers AluK (GB) - The Experts in Aluminium, to create the impressive façade.

EYG Commercial was contracted to complete a major window replacement project at Harrogate Grammar School, replacing old steel single-glazed units with the latest range of high-performance aluminium windows.

The school is now set to benefit from the efficiency improvements offered by the latest high-performance windows – whilst keeping a traditional look in keeping with its historic buildings.

The project has included the replacement of more than 20 large Georgian-style arched windows, a key aesthetical feature of the school’s prominent, historic 1930s-built main building.

We installed windows, doors, bi-folding doors and sliding patio doors for the award-winning York-based developer, who said they returned to our team at EYG because of our high-quality products and installations, and our reliability to complete works on schedule.

Farewell to Sue!

This week saw EYG say goodbye to Sue Russell after a staggering 33 years with the company.

Sue has been a stalwart of the credit control team, performing the vital role with the utmost professionalism for over three decades.

Her colleagues and management gathered for a send-off at our Hull head office and presented her with flowers and gifts.

Good luck and best wishes for the future Sue, and thank you for everything 👏
