This home began as an existing bungalow in Ruddington.

Rather than demolishing and starting again, we retained as much of the existing building as possible, removed the roof and extended only where it would make the biggest difference.

The new upper-level volumes create the additional space the family needed, while generous glazing brings natural light deep into the home and creates a much stronger relationship with the garden.

Warm timber brings texture. Large openings create connection. Inside and outside begin to feel like one continuous space.

Minimum intervention. Maximum impact.

Not simply about creating more space but making the existing home work harder and feel better.

Our clients loved where they lived in Kirby Muxloe. Their children went to school locally, their family were nearby, and they couldn't imagine moving elsewhere.

When they found this plot, they knew the location was perfect but the existing bungalow wasn't. Together, we transformed the vision into a contemporary family home designed around the way they live today.

After working closely with the local authority, planning permission was secured, the technical design completed, and construction has now begun.

The foundations are being dug, and we can't wait to share the transformation over the coming months.

Having purchased this house in Rolleston at auction to be closer to family, our clients recognised its potential but knew it needed a complete rethink to suit modern family life.

The project involved carefully designed side and rear extensions, together with a full reconfiguration of both floors, creating a more functional layout, improving natural light, and strengthening the connection between the home's main living spaces and the garden.

Throughout the design process, we looked for opportunities to retain as much of the existing structure as possible, helping to keep construction costs under control where practical while still delivering a home that feels completely transformed.

The result is a timeless family home that reflects the way our clients live today.

This home in Epperstone presented an interesting challenge. Located within the Green Belt, it had been extended several times over the years, resulting in a fragmented layout and an overly complex appearance.

Rather than making it bigger, we focused on making it better. By redistributing the existing footprint and volume, we created a more efficient family home while working within Green Belt constraints.

Internally, amongst other layout optimisations, we introduced a new double-height entrance and relocated the staircase to transform the arrival experience while improving light, views and the flow throughout the home.

Externally, the architecture has been simplified with a refined roof form, carefully considered window proportions and a more restrained material palette to create a stronger, more coherent identity.

A new landscape design brings the entire scheme together, creating a series of distinct outdoor spaces that respond to the rooms alongside them, strengthening the relationship between the house and its gardens.

The project is currently at the concept / planning stage, and we look forward to sharing more as it progresses.

We've selected a few of our favourite concept visuals and snapshots from this project to give you a feel for the design direction and the spaces we're creating.

Our clients found their dream rural property in Lincolnshire, but years of piecemeal extensions had left the farmhouse with a fragmented layout, through-rooms and an entrance through the utility.

Rather than erase its history, we've retained as much of the original farmhouse as possible, expressing the extension as a contemporary addition through a palette of materials inspired by traditional rural buildings. The contrast allows the old and new to be read honestly while sitting comfortably within the countryside.

Inside, the home has been completely re-planned with improved circulation, en-suite bedrooms, a self-contained annexe connected by a glazed link, and a dramatic double-height entrance hall that finally gives the house the sense of arrival it deserves.

We can't wait to share the finished home.

These images from our project in Ravenshead show the original property alongside our architectural design visualisations, illustrating the transformation from existing house to proposed design.

Set within Gedling's Green Belt in Ravenshead, the challenge was to reshape a property that had evolved through years of ad hoc extensions while bringing it back in line with planning policy.

Through a careful strategy of partial demolition and considered rebuilding, we rebalanced the home, improving flow, natural light, and its connection to the surrounding landscape.

The result is a calmer, more coherent home, grounded in its setting and designed around the way our clients live.

This month, a new client referenced this project in Ravenshead as the inspiration for what they believe could become their dream home, so we thought it was the perfect time to revisit it (especially as we've never shared the before and after!).

Originally, the house had been extended in fragments over the years, creating a series of dark, disconnected spaces. We completely reworked the layout to create a bright, flowing family home centred around a generous open-plan kitchen and dining space, with a gallery staircase drawing natural light through the heart of the house.

Set within Gedling's Green Belt (Ravenshead), the design carefully worked within the 50% volume restriction by removing outdated additions and redistributing the space more intelligently, creating a larger-feeling home without unnecessary expansion.

Today we’re sharing a recently completed transformation in Bingham. Swipe to see the before and after.

The original house felt disjointed and outdated, with dark corridors, blocked views, and little connection between spaces.

The client had a clear vision, he wanted an extension that made him feel like he was on holiday all year round.

Our approach focused on clarity and flow. A new rear and side extension allowed us to open up the layout, introduce natural light, and reconnect the kitchen with the garden.

The result is a brighter, more open home with a seamless indoor-outdoor connection, designed around how the family truly lives… and how they want to feel every day.

We’re excited to share that we’ve recently secured planning approval for this transformation in Sherwood, Nottingham.

After 20 years in their family home, our clients reached a familiar crossroads : whether to move or improve. After nearly a year of searching, they realised nothing on the market offered the same space, character, or location.

So they chose to improve.

Our proposal includes a rear extension, first-floor addition, loft conversion, and a new swimming pool. All designed to enhance family life while allowing for future flexibility.
