Our customer wanted to upgrade the existing strip lighting above their false TV ceiling, so we replaced it with new RGBW LED tape, offering a huge range of colours, adjustable brightness and Smart Control.

We recently returned to this property to add even more Ring home security, this time installing a Ring Video Doorbell at the front gate.
Positioning the doorbell at the entrance to the property provides an earlier view of visitors and deliveries, giving the homeowner added peace of mind and greater control over who is approaching their home.

The existing broken pillar lights were removed and replaced with stylish new coach lanterns, instantly improving the appearance of the entrance. To make life easier for the homeowner, the lights are now controlled by a dawn-to-dusk sensor, automatically switching on at dusk and off again at sunrise—no switches, no timers, and nothing to remember.

We've recently completed the first stage of a lighting transformation at this property by removing the existing light fittings and installing new integrated LED downlights throughout.
The new downlights provide a much cleaner, modern appearance while offering improved light output and greater energy efficiency.
As part of the project, we'll be returning in a couple of weeks to reskim the ceilings, leaving the customer with a seamless, flawless finish around the new lighting.

⚠️ Why Using a Qualified Electrician Matters ⚡
While carrying out some electrical alterations for a customer, we uncovered an issue that perfectly highlights the importance of using a fully qualified and competent electrician.
The customer wanted to remove some redundant high and low level sockets in the middle of the room and replace them with a single low-level socket in the corner, allowing space for a new side unit and lamp.
Once we removed the existing sockets, we discovered that additional sockets had been installed by a previous person using connector blocks hidden inside the wall to join the cables. These joints were inaccessible and did not comply with the Wiring Regulations.
To ensure the installation was safe and compliant, we:
✅ Removed the unsafe hidden joints
✅ Replaced the cable sections correctly
✅ Installed approved maintenance-free joints in accessible ceiling spaces and within recognised cable zones
✅ Completed full testing to confirm the circuit was safe and operating correctly
Electrical work isn't just about making something work, it's about making sure it's safe, compliant, and built to last.
Hidden joints, incorrect cable routes, and poor workmanship often remain unnoticed until other work is carried out, but they can present serious safety risks if left uncorrected.
