McGregor Structures has used Mehler POLYMAR® PVC in every structure we have built for over 20 years. We visited Mehler's factory in Germany to review their production processes firsthand, and POLYMAR® has been manufactured there since 1953. When we specify a membrane, we want to know exactly what we are working with.
Our 600g/m² to 900g/m² POLYMAR® specifications deliver:
→ Tensile strength from 2,200 to 4,300 N per 50mm
→ Tear strength of approximately 230 N
→ Temperature resistance from -30°C to +70°C
→ Fire classifications: B1, M2 and EN 13501 B-s1,d0
→ Chemical resistance to water, salts, acids and alkalis
That last point matters on recycling sites, waste transfer stations, and industrial yards where the environment puts real demands on materials.
The difference between POLYMAR® and a generic woven cover shows up in how the material tensions, welds and performs as part of the structure over time. McGregor manufactures the finished cladding panels from POLYMAR® in our own factory in Wi******er. The membrane is specified and built as part of the engineered system from the start.
Some suppliers claim alternative cladding materials outperform PVC. The material covering some of the most scrutinised structures in the world is POLYMAR®.
