We’re firm believers that inspiration can come from absolutely anywhere....
A hotel you stayed in. A restaurant you loved. A colour you spotted on a walk. A piece of furniture you can’t stop thinking about.

When we’re working on a project, we love collecting all those little ideas and references — not because we want to copy them, but because they help us understand what you’re drawn to.

Save things. Take photos. Screenshot things you love. Keep a Pinterest board. Tear pages out of magazines. Notice what catches your eye. You don’t need to know exactly what you want before starting a project. That’s part of the fun of the design process and exactly what we help you with!

It all starts with a floorplan 📐

Before we get carried away with colours, fabrics, lighting and all the beautiful details, there’s one thing we always come back to: the floorplan.

A good floorplan is the foundation of a successful space. It’s where we work out how you’ll actually use the room, how people will move through it, where the furniture needs to go and what can be improved.

Often the biggest transformation isn’t about adding more — it’s about making better use of what you already have.

A wall moved here. A doorway repositioned there. A little more storage. A better connection between rooms.

Get the layout right, and everything else starts to fall into place.

Spaces that look good are great. Spaces that work beautifully are better.

Hello September 🍂

I honestly can't believe we are in month 9 already. I think September can feel like a bit of a reset so this is your nudge.....

The summer holidays are over, routines are returning and suddenly there’s a little more headspace to think about the things that have been put on hold.

And if you’ve spent the summer looking around your home thinking “we really need to sort this…” — perhaps September is the month to do something about it. 😉

Monday morning and, like most weeks, we’re both heading off in completely different directions…

While one of us is out on site, getting stuck into an exciting garage conversion project, the other is at the Hub catching up on all the very overdue admin. 😬

Finances and coding ✔️
Emails and general sorting of inbox(es)✔️
Project planning ✔️
Marketing… social media… bleugh 😅

It’s not always the glamorous side of running a design (and every other small) business, but there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep everything moving.

And actually, having the Highland Fox Hub as a place to sit down, focus and get through the jobs that have been hanging around is proving invaluable!

So, what’s on your to-do list this Monday? Are you tackling the exciting stuff, the boring stuff… or pretending the admin doesn’t exist? 😂

A long overdue hello 👋

All of a sudden, the summer holidays are over, the house is a little quieter and we’ve all got a bit more space to breathe! And, it seems, a few more followers!

Which feels like the perfect time for a long overdue hello from us. 👋

So, if you’re new here, hi! Thanks so much for joining us. And if you’ve been following along for a while, thanks for sticking with us. We’re looking forward to sharing a little more of what we’ve been working on over the next few weeks.

Talking about secondary glazing in the middle of summer might seem a little strange... ☀️ ...but there's never a bad time to think ahead.

One of the things we've been asked about most in the Hub... our blinds! 🤍

We chose day & night blinds from because they give us the best of both worlds. The alternating sheer and opaque panels let us control privacy and light throughout the day, without blocking the natural light or completely losing the view outside.

They're a simple but really effective solution, creating a bright, comfortable workspace while helping to reduce glare when you're working on a screen.

We love them so much, we use them in some spaces at home too.

Designing the Highland Fox Hub has been an incredibly rewarding process. Every product, material and finish has been thoughtfully selected to create a unique space that works for the people who use it.
