☀️ PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT | Sigenergy SigenStor

So, what makes Sigenergy different?

For us, two things really stand out, its intelligent energy management and how easily the system can grow with the customer.

This installation features:

⚡ 10kW SigenStor inverter
🔋 4 × 9.04kWh battery modules
🧠 Sigen AI energy management

SigenStor uses AI to intelligently manage when energy is generated, stored, imported and used, taking things like consumption, solar generation and electricity pricing into account.

It's also extremely modular. Battery capacity can be expanded as requirements change, which is exactly what we're now doing with this customer. We're also working to add the Sigen Energy Gateway to provide backup power during grid outages.

Smart, scalable and designed around how the customer actually uses energy.

Back in 2022, we installed one of our first Tesla Powerwall 2 systems at a popular B&B near the River Spey.

⚡ Backup power through the Tesla Gateway

The system has now generated almost 14,000 kWh, with around 90% of recent solar generation used or stored on site rather than exported.

That could represent an estimated saving of around £700 per year, while also helping to keep guests comfortable during frequent power cuts.*

Completed for a working farm, this large scale system was installed across both sides of a newly erected agricultural shed.

• 140 × 440W solar panels
• 61.6 kWp total capacity
• 2 × 25kW three-phase Solis inverters
• Full G99 approval from SSEN
• Estimated generation of around 42,000 kWh per year

Designed to help offset the farm’s daytime electricity use, including heavy machinery and office loads.

Another commercial system built to make better use of valuable roof space.

EcoFlow PowerOcean is one of the newer solar and battery systems we have added to our range.

This three-phase installation serves the laundry building of a hotel at the very top of Skye:

☀️ 25 × 450W JA Solar bifacial panels
⚡ 10kW three-phase hybrid inverter
🔋 15kWh modular LFP battery storage

PowerOcean combines the solar inverter, modular batteries and smart monitoring into one complete system. Battery capacity can be expanded up to 45kWh, with IP65-rated equipment, automatic battery heating and a 15-year manufacturer warranty.

The system has already generated over 6,500 kWh since February, with around 95% used or stored on site rather than exported.

A smart, compact system installed with Skye’s wet and exposed climate firmly in mind.

🏡 NEW BUILD SPOTLIGHT | Solar without compromising the design

This stylish new build by Macbeth Joinery incorporates some seriously impressive energy technology:

☀️ 26 flush-integrated solar panels, 5.07 kWp
🔋 Tesla Powerwall 3 with two expansion batteries, 40.5 kWh storage
⚡ Full backup power with up to 11 kW output
🚗 7 kW EV charger

The panels are bonded directly to the standing seam roof, creating a clean finish that almost disappears into the building.

The large battery system also allows the homeowner to make the most of cheaper smart-tariff electricity and reduce reliance on peak-rate energy.

A great example of renewable technology being designed into a home.

We know it’s been a while since we posted, but we’ve been far from quiet! We’ve been busy completing projects, improving the business and building CalTech Energy into what it is today.

With our 5th anniversary coming up in August, we thought it was time to start sharing some of the work that got us here.

First up is a commercial installation that we completed for Simpson Builders in Beauly during our early years:

• 48 × 430W JA Solar panels
• 20.64 kWp total capacity
• Three Phase Solis inverter
• Monitoring shows that around 18,000 kWh is generated per year!

That could represent an estimated electricity value of up to £4,700 per year, depending on the site’s tariff and how much energy is used directly.

Installed during normal office hours with minimal disruption.
