🌿 Availability Update

I’ve had a few people getting in touch to ask about availability, so just a quick update.

Unfortunately, I am still fully booked, with all remaining slots now taken through to the end of the season.

If you’re looking for a gardener and need a recommendation, I’m more than happy to suggest a few local gardeners that I know and trust. 🌱

For all regular customers:

We’re now onto the final four visits of the season, which will take us through to the end of October/start of November. 🍂

Please note that I’ll be on holiday during the first week of October, so there will be no visits during that week.

🌿 Booking Update 🌿

Thank you to everyone who has been in touch with enquiries over the last few days. I didn’t expect quite so many enquiries, so thank you for the continued support.

📅 September and October are now fully booked.

All regular customers are already factored into the diary, so the remaining availability was for additional work and one-off jobs.

I’ll post any further availability or cancellations as they arise.

🌱 Proud to support the Blue Light Garden! 💙

JMB Garden Services is very happy to be supporting this fantastic community project at Carnoustie Police Office. 👮‍♂️🌿

We’ll be volunteering our time and equipment to help bring the project to life and make the most of this currently unused space for the benefit of the local community. 🌼🪴

It’s great to be involved in a project that brings together local people, organisations and businesses — and we’re looking forward to seeing the garden take shape over the coming months! 💙

🤝 There’s plenty still to do, so if you’re local and would like to volunteer some time, lend a hand or have a skill that could help with the project, we’d love to hear from you.

🌱 Blue Light Garden – Community Consultation 💙

A really positive start to our community consultation today, with Wendy and Martyn carrying out a leaflet drop around the site and having lots of friendly and constructive conversations on the doorsteps. 👋

It was fantastic to hear so much support for the Blue Light Garden, with neighbours overwhelmingly viewing the project as a positive addition to the local area and community. We also received several offers of help, which is exactly the kind of community involvement we hoped the project would encourage. 🌿🤝

As with any community project, we also heard some concerns, particularly around the possibility of anti-social behaviour. These concerns are completely understandable, and it was helpful to have the opportunity to discuss them openly. There are a number of measures that can be considered as part of the design and ongoing management of the garden which could significantly reduce these risks.

For us, community consultation means listening to everyone. Positive feedback is fantastic to hear, but questions, concerns and constructive criticism are equally important. They allow us to consider different perspectives and make the project as positive, inclusive and beneficial for the wider community as possible. 💙

📣 Public consultation event coming in September!

We will shortly be holding a public event at the Co-op on the High Street, where the proposed designs will be on display.

Wendy and Martyn will be there to:
🌱 Talk through the project and the vision for the garden
💙 Explain the proposed designs
💬 Answer questions
🤝 Listen to your views, ideas and concerns
🌿 Discuss how the wider community can get involved

Keep an eye out for the date, which will be advertised shortly for September.

This has been an excellent first step in our community consultation, and we are incredibly encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response so far.

The Blue Light Garden is about bringing people together, creating something positive and growing a stronger community — together. 🌱💙

🌿✂️ HEDGE WORK – LIMITED AVAILABILITY ✂️🌿

With the hedge-cutting season now well underway, JMB Garden Services is now taking bookings for hedge work between now and October. 🍃

I have limited slots remaining, so if your hedges are looking a little wild, overgrown or simply in need of their seasonal trim, please get in touch as soon as possible to secure a date. 📅🌳

🌿 A little advance notice for next season

I also wanted to give my regular customers plenty of notice about a change I’ll be making next season.

I’m not stopping regular garden maintenance altogether, so there’s no need for existing customers to panic! 😊🌱 I’ll continue to look after a number of my regular gardens.

However, I’ll be reducing the number of regular maintenance slots I offer and won’t be filling any regular slots that naturally become available. This means that, over time, my regular maintenance workload will gradually reduce.

The aim is to give me more time to concentrate on:

🌳 Larger one-off garden projects
✂️ Hedge cutting and hedge work
🌿 Overgrown and neglected gardens
🏡 Gardens requiring more time and attention

I’ve really enjoyed building up the regular maintenance side of JMB Garden Services, but I’m looking to shift the business towards larger projects and more involved garden work, rather than continually taking on additional small maintenance jobs.

For anyone looking to get hedge work done before the end of October, though, don’t leave it too late — the remaining spaces are limited!

🌿 A satisfying transformation in Monifieth today! 🌿

Today's job was tackling a garden that had become overrun with w**ds, and despite the soaring temperatures, the results made all the hard work worthwhile. ☀️💪

A thorough w**d removal doesn't just improve the appearance of your garden – it also gives your plants more room to thrive, helps prevent w**ds spreading further and makes ongoing maintenance much easier. The before and after photos really show what a difference a few hours can make.

The w**ds may have been enjoying the sunshine... I wasn't quite as keen! 🥵🌱

🚜 Another transformation complete! ✨

Today we completed this new gravel driveway for one of our existing customers, transforming an area that was previously muddy, overgrown with w**ds and difficult to use into a practical, attractive and fully accessible space.

This was a particularly challenging project due to restricted access. While machinery could access the site for the excavation, it wasn't possible to get the bulk gravel bags into the working area. As a result, around 30 tonnes of hardcore and gravel had to be laid by hand 💪

The project involved:

✅ Excavating the existing ground
✅️ Edging
✅ Laying and compacting a solid hardcore base
✅ Installing a high-quality w**d control membrane
✅ Finishing with a fresh layer of gravel

Why choose a gravel driveway?

💧 Excellent natural drainage, helping to reduce standing water and surface runoff.

📅 A quick diary update from JMB Garden Services 🌿

Just a quick update for everyone – my diary will remain closed to new customers until September.

To be completely honest, I'm still catching up after being off in May. Combined with the recent weather and the sheer volume of work, it's left me playing catch-up over the last few weeks.

The good news is that I'm making steady progress and expect to be fully back up to date by the end of July. I still have a few regular monthly customers waiting, along with several additional hedge and shrub pruning jobs, but I'm confident these will all be completed by the end of the month.

I'd like to say a huge thank you for your patience and understanding. I really do appreciate it, and I'm sorry for any delays you've experienced.

And finally... I promise I'll cancel all holidays in 2027! 😉😄
