πŸ—οΈ Project Completion | Llyn Madoc

We recently completed a particularly challenging project at Llyn Madoc, carrying out repairs to water-damaged masonry within the former mill house water wheel pit.

Designed, planned, and delivered by BrynBuild, the project required specialist engineering expertise, close coordination with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and the necessary permits to carry out the works in this challenging river environment.

Due to the location of the pit and the condition of the masonry, much of the work had to be carried out underwater by a specialist dive team. The works included the removal of loose masonry, failed mortar, silt and debris, followed by localised masonry repairs, specialist grout installation and repointing.

A specialist river rescue team was also on standby throughout the works to support the safe delivery of the project.

Despite the challenging conditions, the project was successfully completed in just seven days, demonstrating the BrynBuild team's ability to coordinate specialist skills and adapt to complex working environments.

We’re pleased to have completed the full refurbishment of Block 2 at Prestatyn High School, Denbighshire’s largest school.

The works included:
β€’ Full strip out, remodelling and redecoration
β€’ Full electrical rewire and new heating system
β€’ New flooring and reskimming throughout
β€’ New air handling units
β€’ Upgraded IT equipment and interactive screens
β€’ New accessible rise-and-fall cooking facilities
β€’ Camera-operated systems to support teacher demonstrations in the Home Economics classrooms

We also completed the refurbishment of the drama studio, alongside the construction of a new lift block to provide accessible access.

The refurbishment was designed alongside the school’s teaching staff, helping ensure the finished spaces work well for both pupils and teachers.

It’s great to see the block back in use for the new school year. A big well done to everyone involved in delivering the project. πŸ—οΈ

Yesterday, the BrynBuild team headed to Maelor School for a Year 11 Careers Fair.

It was great to speak with pupils about the wide range of career opportunities within construction and showcase the many different roles involved from skilled trades and site management to quantity surveying, design and administration.

With so many pupils attending, there were plenty of great conversations and questions throughout the afternoon.

Thanks to The Maelor School for having us, and to Careers Wales for organising the event. Also, a big thank you to everyone who took the time to come over and speak to the BrynBuild team. πŸ—οΈ

πŸŽ‰ Project Complete | Stiwdio Haulfan School πŸŽ‰

We're proud to announce the successful transformation of the former Johnstown Infant School into Stiwdio Haulfan School a modern, purpose-designed secondary school for pupils with Additional Learning Needs.

This wasn't just a refurbishment; it was the complete reinvention of a building that had stood unused. Every space has been reimagined to meet the needs of pupils and staff, from brand-new classrooms, a science lab, media suite and sensory rooms, to new kitchens, a disabled shower room, upgraded heating and electrics, and internal and external dining pods.

Outside, we've created fantastic new facilities including a football pitch and basketball court, a trampoline area, polytunnel, new fencing and welcoming outdoor spaces that encourage learning beyond the classroom.

Seeing a building with so much potential given a new lease of life is what construction is all about. We're incredibly proud to have delivered a facility that will make a lasting difference to pupils, staff and the wider community.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this transformation to life.

While currently working at Christchurch County Primary School, we were pleased to support the school's Pantri Bach Food Bank with a donation.

Pantri Bach provides vital support to families within the local community, and we're proud to play a small part in helping such an important initiative.

It's fantastic to see schools going above and beyond to support not only their pupils but the wider community. A huge thank you to everyone involved in running Pantri Bach and for the positive impact you make every day.

Today, we were proud to support the Women in Construction event at Coleg Cambria, organised by CITB, inspiring Year 7 and 8 girls to see the exciting opportunities our industry has to offer. πŸ‘·β€β™€οΈπŸ’™

Our Block Tower Challenge put teamwork, communication and problem-solving to the test, giving students a hands-on insight into the collaboration that goes into every construction project. The creativity and enthusiasm on display was incredible, and it was great to see so many businesses coming together to showcase the variety of careers within our industry.

To round off the day, our Marketing & Digital Systems Manager, Eleri, joined the Q&A panel, sharing her career journey and answering students' questions about working in the construction industry.

A huge thank you to CITB for organising such an inspiring event. We're proud to play our part in encouraging the next generation and showing that construction is a career for everyone.

Project Complete | Blas Cookery & W**e School πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³

From bare brick to a vibrant new learning space, we're proud to have completed our refurbishment works at BLAS Cookery & W**e School

This project involved a full transformation of the existing building, creating a modern teaching kitchen complete with six new cooking stations, alongside a welcoming w**e tasting room and refreshed facilities throughout.

Working carefully within the existing building, we stripped both the kitchen and w**e tasting room back to brick before installing new metal stud partitions, suspended ceilings, plaster finishes and lighting. In the w**e tasting room, we were pleased to retain the original windows and restore the exposed chimney breast, preserving the character and history of the space while delivering a contemporary finish.

The project was a fantastic collaboration with the client, whose vision helped bring the interiors to life through the chosen colour palette, beautifully restored timber floors and the installation of large display screens, creating spaces that are as functional as they are inviting.

It's always rewarding to see a building transformed into somewhere that will bring people together, develop new skills and create memorable experiences.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in delivering another successful project. We wish the team at Blas Cookery School every success in their new home.

πŸ† On Friday evening, members of the BrynBuild team attended the CEW Awards, where we were proud finalists in the Building Project of the Year (Β£5m and under) category for our Ysgol Tir Morfa Hydrotherapy Facility.

While we didn't take home the award this time, being shortlisted as one of only three finalists in our category, from more than 1,000 entries submitted across the awards, is a fantastic achievement and one we are incredibly proud of.

The Ysgol Tir Morfa Hydrotherapy Facility has already made a meaningful difference to pupils and staff, providing a specialist facility that will support the school community for many years to come. To see the project recognised on such a prestigious stage is a testament to the hard work, dedication and collaboration of everyone involved in its delivery.

A huge thank you to our client, project partners, supply chain and the BrynBuild team for their contribution to the project's successπŸ‘

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners on the night. The event was a fantastic celebration of excellence across the Welsh construction industry, and we were honoured to be part of it.
