Technology is changing the fire and security industry quickly, from AI and intelligent analytics within security systems to the technology we use behind the scenes to manage our own operations.

At CPS, we want to make sure we are moving with that change.

Following a recent meeting with the Build Concierge team, we are now getting ready to introduce their platform into our service department.

For us, it is not simply about having new software. It is about using technology, including AI, where it can genuinely make a difference.

Build Concierge will help us organise our jobs, paperwork and information more efficiently, reducing time spent on repetitive administration and allowing our service team to focus on what matters most, delivering a great service to our customers.

As AI and automation become an increasingly important part of our industry, we see opportunities not just within the systems we provide to our customers, but within our own business too.

This is another step in making sure CPS continues to evolve, work smarter and invest in the technology and people that help us deliver the best possible service.

We are looking forward to seeing the difference it makes as we get started.

Does anybody else recognise this number plate?

When one of our clients spotted H100 GGY on our vehicle the other day, he recognised it straight away.

It was Geoff’s number plate back in the 1980s, long before Crime Prevention Services looked anything like it does today.

Geoff may no longer be with us, but his number plate still is. A lovely little piece of history that has somehow stayed with us all these years.

We’ve got a new website, but more importantly, it’s finally one that feels like us 🎉

For years, people have known us for the systems we install, the projects we deliver, and the service we provide. What they haven’t always seen are the people behind it all.

Crime Prevention Services has always been about more than fire and security. We’re a family run business, built on relationships, trust, and a team that truly cares about doing the job properly.

Our new website gives you a better look at who we are, what we do, and the people who make it happen every day. You’ll find our latest projects, the services we offer across the UK, and a chance to get to know the team behind the name.

Whether you’ve worked with us for years or you’re discovering us for the first time, we’d love you to take a look.

Here’s to the next chapter - https://crimepreventionservices.co.uk/

Protecting local industry with the highest standards of fire safety 🚨

We recently completed the installation of a Category L1 addressable fire alarm system at a local plastic recycling and reprocessing facility here in North Wales.

The project was undertaken to meet the client's insurance requirements, providing the highest level of automatic fire detection throughout the site. In facilities where recycled plastics are processed into reusable materials for manufacturing, early fire detection is essential to protect people, equipment, and business continuity.

Our team designed and installed a fully addressable system, ensuring comprehensive coverage across the premises and giving the client confidence that their site is protected and compliant.

We are proud to support businesses across North Wales and throughout the UK with tailored fire and security solutions, helping organisations meet insurance requirements, achieve compliance, and safeguard what matters most.

Another excellent installation completed by our engineers. 👏

Proof that we don't just hit the target with CCTV... ⛳

Last week, our team swapped cameras for clubs as we joined Hanwha Vision for their annual Golf Day.

It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with customers, partners, and colleagues from across the security industry, while enjoying a brilliantly organised day on the course.

We're also pleased to say we came away with 2nd place, so we must have been doing something right!

A big thank you to the Hanwha Vision team for their hospitality and for bringing everyone together. We look forward to working together on many more projects, both on and off the course.

Now that we've had a couple of days to take it all in, we wanted to share just how proud we are of our MD, Karen Farrell-Thornley.

Last Friday, at the Cheshire and North Wales Business Awards, Downtown in Business, Karen unexpectedly received the Chief Executives Award 2026.

As headline sponsors of the event, we were already looking forward to celebrating the achievements of businesses and individuals from across the region. What we didn't expect was for Karen to be the one walking away with an award herself... to say she was surprised would be an understatement.

Many people see the success, but not always the years of hard work, long days, difficult decisions and determination that have gone into building the business. From a family business based in North Wales, just off the A*5 Expressway, to supporting one of the UK's leading supermarket retailers nationwide, it has been quite a journey.

This recognition adds to a series of milestones, including winning the Business Services B2B Award at the North West Family Business Awards in 2024, and being named Woman of the Year in 2025. To now receive this award in 2026 makes this moment even more special, and still very unexpected.

The day itself was a busy one. Karen took part in a Q&A discussing the growth of Crime Prevention Services, the launch and development of The tecdesk, and the opportunities and challenges that come with growing a business. She also had the honour of presenting the Man of the Year award to Rick Parry of the English Football League.

For our team, the most memorable part of the day was seeing someone who gives so much to the business, our people and our clients receive recognition from her peers. Seeing how genuinely overwhelmed and grateful she was made the award all the more meaningful.

Congratulations Karen. This recognition is thoroughly deserved, and we couldn't be prouder of everything you have achieved.

Thank you to Frank Mckenna and the team at Downtown in Business, Lucy Meacock, Chester Racecourse, Nugent & Everybody involved in creating such an incredible day.

If you've worked with Karen, met her through business, or followed her journey over the years, we'd love for you to join us in congratulating her in the comments below.

Every year, we are proud to support the Charity Shoot, an event that has become a highlight of the North Wales business calendar and one that continues to make a real difference to local children and families.

While the day itself is always filled with friendly competition, networking and plenty of laughter, the purpose behind it is what truly matters.

Children's hospices such as Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith provide vital care and support to children with life limiting conditions and their families. At a time when charities across the UK are facing increasing financial pressures and charitable giving is becoming more challenging, fundraising events like this have never been more important.

This year's Charity Shoot raised an incredible £𝟰𝟲,𝟬𝟬𝟬, bringing the total amount raised since the event began to an outstanding £𝟖𝟑𝟔,𝟎𝟎𝟎. These figures are a testament to the generosity, commitment and community spirit shown by everyone involved over the years.

The Charity Shoot demonstrates what can be achieved when businesses come together for a common cause. Through sponsorship, participation and fundraising, the event helps ensure that families facing some of life's most difficult challenges can continue to access the specialist care, respite and support they need.

Our MD, Karen Farrell, has been involved with the Charity Shoot since its early days and played a key role in helping establish the event. Seeing how it has grown into such a well supported and respected fundraiser is something we are incredibly proud of.

We are also delighted to see the launch of the new Charity Shoot website, which showcases the event's history, photographs, sponsors and fundraising efforts, while making it easier than ever for individuals and businesses to learn more and get involved.

A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers and every business that sponsors and supports the event year after year. The continued success of the Charity Shoot would not be possible without the collective efforts of our fellow sponsors, whose generosity helps turn a great day into meaningful support for local children and families.

If you haven't attended before, we would encourage you to consider joining next year's event. Whether you're looking to support an incredible local charity, strengthen business connections or simply enjoy a fantastic day with colleagues and clients, the Charity Shoot offers the opportunity to do all three while helping make a genuine difference in our community.

Together, we are helping ensure that Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith can continue providing life changing support to the children and families who rely on their services.
