Preserving Character, Strengthening Foundations 🏫

Over the summer break, we had the privilege of undertaking structural works to the hall floor of a listed primary school in Huddersfield.

Working within a listed building always brings an added level of responsibility, and it was a real privilege for the team to play our part in maintaining and improving such an important local building.

Alongside the structural works, the existing hall floor was fully sanded and professionally finished with four coats of commercial-grade floor sealer, leaving it looking refreshed, durable and ready for many more years of use.

A great project showcasing the importance of combining specialist structural works with quality finishing, whilst respecting the character and history of the building.

A big well done to everyone involved in delivering the project over the summer break. 👏

Little Band of Brothers 🏆⚽

What a way to finish the summer! 💙

A massive congratulations to the Battyeford Sporting Club U9’s on becoming Doncaster Summer Series Champions! 🏆

This little band of brothers have been absolutely outstanding throughout the tournament, not only lifting the trophy in the final, but also finishing top of the league table after conceding just 2 goals across 10 matches against some seriously strong South Yorkshire teams.

That statistic says it all. 👏

The commitment, teamwork, attitude and determination these lads have shown has been fantastic to watch. More importantly, they’ve done it together, supporting each other, working hard for each other and enjoying their football along the way.

Sometimes it’s not until you’re under pressure that you truly appreciate having the right people around you.

Suspended Floor Repair Complete

Another successful project delivered by the team at D Croft & Son Limited.

This suspended floor repair required a robust and efficient solution for a busy FLT route on a 1st floor production area, with MetFloor rib decking installed before the concrete pour to create a strong, durable structural floor.

From the initial preparation through to the final concrete placement, our team ensured every stage was completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. It’s another example of the specialist structural repair and construction solutions we provide across both commercial and industrial sectors.

Preparation is key to delivering projects safely and efficiently.

This week we were on site meeting with one of our specialist client ahead of a project due to commence shortly. Discussions focused on the installation of safety and debris netting, ensuring the correct systems are in place to protect both the workforce and the surrounding environment throughout the construction phase.

At D. Croft & Son Limited, we understand that successful projects start long before work begins on site. Building strong relationships with trusted supply chain partners and planning every detail is fundamental to delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

It was a pleasure to welcome England captain Harry Kane to site recently. ⚽🏗️

Despite everything he has achieved in the game, Harry took the time to chat with the team, pose for photos and create a memorable moment for everyone on site. It’s not every day you get a visit from one of the world’s best strikers.

It’s always satisfying looking back at projects that have stood the test of time.

This detached single-unit development was completed by D Croft & Son Limited back in 2021, and it’s hard to believe that five years have already passed.

Ironically, we’ve recently seen that the property is now on the market – a reminder of how quickly time flies. Seeing it still looking fantastic is a testament to the quality, care and attention to detail that went into every stage of the build.

We’re incredibly proud to have delivered a home that has provided years of enjoyment and continues to showcase the standard of workmanship we strive for on every project…

Throwback to where it all began… 👷‍♂️🏗️

Looking back at photos like this is a reminder that construction has always been about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about hard work, resilience, and the people who turn up every day to get the job done.

No fancy PPE, no smartphones, no modern machinery—just determination, graft, and a commitment to doing the job right. Times have changed, and thankfully so in many ways, but the pride in producing quality work remains exactly the same.
