If you’re going to do a job, you might as well do it properly. 👌

The first 2 chimneys out of 13 are now complete on our Spencer Street re-roofing project, and what a standard they’ve been finished to.

A huge credit to the very talented Will from wjsleadwork , whose attention to detail and craftsmanship speaks for itself. From the stepped flashings to the back gutters, every detail has been completed to the highest standard.

Keep your eyes peeled for further updates as this fantastic project continues to take shape. 👀🏠

As England’s first World Cup game is tomorrow night, we thought it was only right to get the work truck dressed for the occasion! 🇬🇧

So, just a little heads-up… if the lads happen to arrive a few minutes late Thursday morning, you’ll know they’ve been up celebrating England’s 5-0 win… or discussing where it all went wrong. 🤣

Another one over the line! ✅

Firstly, we’d like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding while we battled through some truly horrible weather conditions over the last few weeks. The rain has certainly done its best to slow things down, but we’re delighted to finally hand this project back over.

This wasn’t just a replacement flat roof – it was a complete rebuild from the ground up. The project included all new structural timbers, a brand-new warm roof deck with the correct modern build-up, two new flat roof rooflights supplied and installed, and a premium FlexiProof Flat Roof Systems to provide a long-lasting, watertight finish.

A big thank you to jrh.developments for completing all of the timber works to their usual high standard.

We think you’ll agree the finished result looks absolutely fantastic – a clean, modern finish that should serve these homeowners well for many years to come.

🐦 Friday Fun from the Roofing World! 🏠

As many of you know, here at D. Haynes Roofing, no two days are ever the same!

Over the years we’ve seen and heard just about everything. We’ve had Jay nearly deafened by church bells whilst carrying out an inspection in a bell tower, and this week he found himself in another unexpected situation…

Whilst surveying a large commercial flat roof in Milton Keynes, he accidentally wandered into what can only be described as a very protective seagull neighbourhood! 🐦😂

With several baby seagulls on the roof, the parents made it very clear that Jay wasn’t welcome, and let’s just say his exit from the roof was considerably quicker than his arrival!

Before anyone asks:
✅ No seagulls were harmed.
✅ No baby birds were disturbed.
✅ We kept our distance at all times.
✅ The audio has been removed… mainly because there may have been a few colourful words that aren’t suitable for Facebook! 🤣

We thought we’d share a little bit of the lighter side of roofing to finish the week. Sometimes it’s not the roofs that cause us problems—it’s the local residents!

🌧️ As the rain keeps coming down, the scaffolding keeps going up! 🏗️

We’re doing our very best to stay positive and keep projects moving, but when you’ve had over a month’s worth of rain in the first 10 days of June, it makes life incredibly difficult for the roofing industry.

We’ve got projects sitting and waiting all across Milton Keynes, and with another full day of rain forecast today, it’s proving to be a real challenge. The good news is that the forecast is finally looking a little brighter from Friday onwards, and we’ve even got teams working on Saturday to help catch up where we can.

At this point, we know more about weather apps than we ever wanted to! ☔️😂

Let’s hope the warmer weather sticks around for a while so we can start crashing through the diaries and getting everyone back on track.

Once again, we’d like to say a huge thank you to every single one of our customers for their patience, understanding, and support. We genuinely appreciate you working with us while we navigate what has been an incredibly difficult start to June.

Well, that’s 8 tonnes of reclaimed Welsh slates delivered to the unit! 🏠

Now we just need to keep our fingers crossed for a nice long break in the weather so we can start getting them over to site and, more importantly, getting them back down on the roof where they belong.

This is going to be a fantastic project, and we can’t wait to show you the transformation as the work progresses.

What better way to finish a Friday? 👌

A quick visit to our Spencer Street project today and it’s great to see the progress being made. One corner plot is now fully scaffolded at the correct height and ready for our roofing team on Monday, with another around 75% complete and set to be roofed next week.

Two more large plots will be completed next week ready for us to follow straight on, before the remaining properties are fully scaffolded front and back.

We’ve definitely got that Friday feeling! 😎🏠🔨

Let’s finish the week on a positive note with another fantastic 5⭐ review.

It’s been an extremely challenging week with the weather. One minute you’re reaching for the sun cream, and ten minutes later you’re looking for an umbrella! Unfortunately, that makes certain roofing projects impossible to complete safely and to the standard our customers expect.

We’re keeping everything crossed for a good break in the weather now, as we’ve got some absolutely amazing projects underway, including a beautiful flat roof installation that we can’t wait to show you.
