Poor water pressure is a common frustration in older properties, often caused by outdated or corroded main supply pipes. For one of our long-standing clients, the water pressure was completely rubbish—so we stepped in with a heavy-duty solution!

⛏️ Trenched & Excavated: Dug a channel all the way from the kitchen stop tap right out to the boundary wall connection point.

🔵 High-Spec Upgrade: Installed a brand-new, modern Polyethylene pipe.

While our clients were enjoying a week on holiday, the Opal Construction team was hard at work opening up their living space!

✨ Knocked down the kitchen/dining wall for an open-plan feel.
✨ Installed "Waterside Oak Parquet" in a Herringbone pattern.
✨ Created a new entrance with a glass door to bring in light.
✨ Re-routed main house electrics & installed 11 spotlights.
✨ Upgraded heating with a large open-plan radiator + new hall radiator (all pipework hidden!).

The Power of Proper Structural Work! 🏗️💪
This week was all about heavy-duty transformations at Opal Construction. We took on a massive structural project to open up and modernise a client's home, making sure everything is as solid as it is seamless.

What we delivered:

🧱 Three Chimney Breast Removals: Stripped out to create massive space, with floors and ceilings expertly made good.
📐 Structural Precision: Supported remaining chimney structures using engineering-grade brackets and angle irons based on strict structural calculations.

🚪 Layout Optimisation: Blocked up an old doorway using wall starter kits for a flawless finish.

🏗️ Open-Plan Living: Removed an old timber lintel and "nib" to flatten the wall. We replaced it with structural steel sat on pad stones to widen the opening and safely spread the weight.
It’s the complex, invisible groundwork behind the walls that makes a dream home transformation possible! 💎
