How do you move a 10-ton machine when it won't fit through the door? You make a new one! 🚛🏗️

We recently completed an intensive 5-day industrial project moving a massive Edwards Pearson CNC press brake from one end of a factory to another. Because of its sheer size and weight, standard access routes were completely off the table.

The 5-day turn-around:

🧱 Knock-Through: Carefully formed a precision opening in the factory's structural exterior wall.

⚙️ The Move: Coordinated the heavy machinery relocation, maneuvering the 10-ton press brake safely through the temporary access point.

🧱 Rebuilding & Securing: Blocked the opening back up using high-density concrete blocks, restoring total structural integrity and security to the building.

We recently hand-crafted, supplied, and fitted this custom wooden side gate, giving our client total security and a beautiful entrance to their garden.

Project Breakdown:

🪵 Bespoke Joinery: Custom-built in our workshop with an arched top profile and open vertical spindle detail.

🎨 Painted Finish: Treated and coated in a soft sage green outdoor finish to complement the surrounding garden landscaping.

🔩 Secure Fitting: Mounted using heavy-duty wall battens fitted securely between concrete posts, equipped with durable black ironmongery and a traditional ring-latch handle.

A custom-fit gate makes all the difference to security and curb appeal.

While our clients were enjoying a week on holiday, the Opal Construction team was hard at work opening up their living space!

✨ Knocked down the kitchen/dining wall for an open-plan feel.
✨ Installed "Waterside Oak Parquet" in a Herringbone pattern.
✨ Created a new entrance with a glass door to bring in light.
✨ Re-routed main house electrics & installed 11 spotlights.
✨ Upgraded heating with a large open-plan radiator + new hall radiator (all pipework hidden!).
