We just want to say a huge thank you to all of the girls from Linthorpe Girls Football Club and their parents who gave up their time to help with the “A Pound for Parky” bucket collection yesterday.

You were all absolutely brilliant, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Giving up your time to stand there collecting for Gary means more than you probably realise. 👏⚽❤️

And an equally massive THANK YOU to every single person who put money into one of our buckets. Whether it was £1, loose change or a bigger donation, every single penny counts and every donation takes us another step towards helping Garry with the treatment and support he needs.

The support from the Boro community has been incredible. Once again, people showed exactly what it means to look after one of our own. 🔴⚪️

We don’t have the final total just yet — Bernie Slaven will announce how much was raised once he’s finished counting it all! 😂💰

Tomorrow we’re asking every Boro fan for just £1.

That’s it. One pound.

Gary’s treatment costs around £75,000 every single year. To put that into perspective, if every Boro fan gave just £2 a year, less than a cup of coffee, it could make an unbelievable difference to Gary and his family.

Tomorrow is our chance to show what this town and this club are all about.

With the help and support of MFC we will be supporting Gary by the means of bucket collections all around the ground on the day of the legacy match. Young girls footballers from our local team Linthorpe girls have offered to give up their time along with their adults to support this very worthwhile cause. A pound in itself is not a lot but with the volume of supporters attending it can be a substantial gesture to Gary from our fans. Please bring a pound along with you, what more fitting tribute than a legacy game for a legend UTFB
