“Shutters don’t need servicing, all you do is grease them anyway”…we hear this all the time & yes we do grease them as well as checking all fixtures & the general condition/ installation, point in hand on a recent service we noticed that the barrel had crept & the pin was dangerously close (5mm!) from falling out of the bearing, if this had happened while the shutter was up then the consequences could have been quite severe. We advised the customer & promptly re centred & secured the barrel. Preventative maintenance is always best so yes shutters do need servicing.
