Yesterday I went to chipping Norton for the 47th national hedgelaying championship. With 18 in my class the biggest class on the day, I had to pull something out the bag especially the amount of times I’ve come second. The hedge was a mixture of hawthorn, spindle and some field maple lucky for me my field maple was at the end (you can see the size difference in pics). I did the best I could as always with what I had and like always pay attention to the back of the hedge not just the front. Doing this gave me a considerable more points for the back than others. These points gave me the win in the class and also I got the best overall intermediate cutter on the day. I was very happy with result especially competing against a very high standard of cutters.
