Some clearance around an industrial building we did last week over in Swadlincote, gaining access to make some repairs caused by some of the very close tree's and do some general maintenance

The old girl has been out in Ashbourne with a stunning backdrop of Carsington water in the distance, assisting another great local team with some roadside ash die back tree's. These few had council notice on them for their safe and swift removal due to the risk the pose to the road. The old land rover equipped with a winch made easy work of pulling them over. Once the die back is present in a tree they produce stress growth then start to die from the tips back, making them incredibly brittle and prone to failure, sadly we will see the loss of many of our great ash tree's due to this not just in Derbyshire but nationally. If you stay vigilant you may well see some of the work that's been carried out around the county due to this.

Here's a little conifer removal we completed a few weeks ago, removing the now overgrown bushes that were once small and revealing the rockery beneath, the stumps were also ground out giving this space a chance to be replanted with something better suited to the space

One we completed last week, a laylandi removed after checking for any nesting activity due to some weak unions caused by bark inclusions, this stem split into multiple pieces when it was felled we gave the hedge a trim whilst we were at it. A previously failed laylandi stum was ground out, part of the dead hedge was removed and a new fence installed, opening up the fantastic views from this property.

This week we had a magnificent magnolia to work on reducing the side of it to lift it from the shed, a birch and a holly were removed. The cherry had some work removing dead wood and some weight due to being in decline, it's had some serious work done previously that was a bit too severe. All chip stayed on site for to be used in the garden which the little chipper came in really handy for and the logs were cut ready to be split for some future winter warmth.

We kicked off the week with a cherry removal due to it's root system breaking up and lifting the concrete path and causing a serious trip hazard. Then finished off the day making good an existing fence for a few more years and adding a section of post and plinth to keep the property secure.
