A beautiful finish on this open plan kitchen and lounge in Somerset.

This was a recent decoration project at a stunning new build eco home, and it has easily become one of my absolute favourite stand out spaces to date.

The way the calm, fresh and modern colours sit against that incredible Hamstone feature fireplace wall is superb.

Cosy, bright, and completely transformed.

Behind every flawless finish is hours of unseen work!

This bespoke boot room and utility space was a brilliant project to bring to life, but the secret to the final look is entirely in the preparation.

I spent hours filling, sanding and prepping the walls and ceilings before any colour even touched them. For the joinery and panelling, it was all about the full prep and priming process followed by hand finishing using a mini roller and brush to achieve a perfectly smooth, spray-like finish.

The stunning final look was achieved using for a truly flawless, flat finish that beautifully complements the natural oak and original terracotta tiles.

Fresh, modern, and spacious. This open landing and hallway works perfectly with Vinyl Matt on the walls and Everal Aqua on the woodwork.

The oak floors are finished with to keep them looking fresh for years to come.

There’s nothing quite like bespoke joinery being added to a dining room. Let me tell you, it was a labour of love getting this unit painted and styled exactly how we envisioned it.

The entire room has been transformed and this bespoke unit makes the alcove so much warmer and practical.

Stepping into one of my absolute favourite entrances. Even though the main feature is this stunning natural Hamstone, it’s still the heart of the home. Sometimes the natural texture does all the talking.

Why it’s so important to select the correct paint in your high traffic locations!

We’ve applied Scuff X Eggshell to the woodwork and doors in this Hall, Stairs and Landing.

And to the walls, which has a scrub 1 rating for maximum durability (and it’s one of our favourites right now!!).

My advice, don’t skimp on the materials or you’ll end up repeating the process sooner than you think!!

This stunning open-plan kitchen has evolved from a construction site to a serene, sophisticated heart of the home.

▪️Ceilings: Mist coated and finished with Tikkurila Anti-Reflex 2 for a perfectly even, non-reflective surface that handles all the natural light beautifully.

▪️Walls: Colour matched to Tikkurila Optiva 3 in the elegant Paint & Paper Library ‘Wattle II’. This provides a deep, flat matt finish that is as tough as it is beautiful.

The result is a clean, contemporary space that feels both expansive and inviting.

We’ve just wrapped up this bedroom decoration in Ilminster, Somerset. We utilised our go to AR2 on the ceilings in White, Velvet Matt on the walls and Benjamin Moore Scuff-X Eggshell on the woodwork.
