Another important milestone for our Belgrave Place project.

This week, working closely with Alex D Architecture Practice, we travelled to Greece with our stone supplier, Akmens Pasaulis (Lithuania), to personally select the Thassos marble for this exceptional Grade II listed refurbishment.
Rather than selecting stone from a warehouse, we visited the quarry itself to inspect the marble at its source and hand-pick the purest white blocks. For projects of this standard, there is simply no substitute for seeing the material where it is extracted. Quality is built into every detail.
Despite only around seven hours of sleep over three days, we travelled from London to Athens, then to Thessaloniki and Thassos Island before returning to England. It was a demanding trip, but delivering outstanding quality requires commitment at every stage.
The selected marble will now be transported to the Akmens Pasaulis workshop in Lithuania, where every slab will be precision-cut to the bespoke sizes required for the project. Once fabrication is complete, each piece will be carefully packed onto custom-made pallets with dedicated lifting points before being shipped to London. As the apartment is located within a Grade II listed building, every pallet will be designed to allow the stone to be safely lifted by crane or hoist directly into the property, ensuring it arrives in perfect condition.
At Falcon Construction & Management Contractors, we believe exceptional projects are achieved by being involved in every stage of the process—from design coordination and material selection to manufacturing, logistics and installation. This level of commitment ensures our client receives the highest possible quality and a finished result that will stand the test of time.

Another major milestone achieved at our Harpenden basement project.

Despite the recent spell of extremely hot weather, our team has continued to make excellent progress while working in full accordance with Sika’s strict watertight concrete guidelines.

Building a watertight basement isn’t simply about pouring concrete. Every stage requires careful planning, attention to detail and strict quality control.

To minimise the risk of shrinkage cracking, the basement walls have been divided into a carefully planned sequence of pours. Each wall pour is limited to a maximum 3:1 length-to-height ratio, meaning only selected sections can be poured at any one time, with adjacent sections left until later. Although this extends the construction programme, it ensures the concrete cures correctly and helps deliver a durable, watertight reinforced concrete structure.

Recent progress includes:
• Basement slab completed using Sika Watertight Concrete.
• SikaSwell hydrophilic waterbars installed to all construction joints.
• Reinforced concrete kickers completed.
• Reinforcement installation progressing throughout.
• Doka wall formwork being assembled for the next series of wall pours.

A huge thank you to our site team for their professionalism, commitment and outstanding workmanship. The quality being delivered on this project is something we’re very proud of.

Harpenden Project Update
Great progress continues on our Harpenden new build basement project, with works running smoothly and in line with the programme.
Over 2,000 cubic metres of soil have now been excavated and removed from the large basement excavation. The team is currently preparing for the next phase of drainage works within the basement structure.
The outbuilding slab reinforcement has also been completed and is now ready for the concrete pour.
A big thank you to our site team, engineers, and suppliers for the continued hard work and coordination keeping the project moving forward safely and efficiently.

We are pleased to share our bespoke bookshelf installation from one of our completed projects in Marlow, Bridge Close.
From the early design stage through to final installation, this was a fully managed process by our team at Falcon Construction & Management Contractors. We sourced and proposed a unique solution using New Zealand ultra prime grade full stave solid wood furniture boards.
With the client originally from New Zealand, this material choice brought a subtle touch of home, which was very well received.
From drawing board to completion, every detail was carefully considered and delivered to a high standard.
The final result speaks for itself a clean, high quality finish that complements the space perfectly.

Harpenden project update. Strong progress on basement works, with piling operations well underway. The main building piles are now complete, and we are preparing 75 retaining piles for the basement structure. These are 450mm diameter piles, approximately 8.6 metres deep, installed through white chalk ground conditions.
FCM Contractors have been approved as a Sika waterproofing contractor. The system will be installed under Sika inspection, providing a 20-year warranty for both the waterproofing system and waterproofing concrete.
Great progress on site, well done to the team.

After six months of suspension, our Belgrave Place project in London is finally moving forward again.
Works were paused while the Grosvenor Licence to Alter was being reviewed due to concerns that the building might fall under the new Higher Risk Building (HRB) regulations. After a detailed review it has now been confirmed that HRB does not apply to this project.
With this clarification in place we have started constructing the gantry, which will allow the refurbishment works to proceed.
This has been a challenging process involving coordination between many parties including estate management, surveyors, designers and contractors. In total more than 40 people were involved and over 1000 emails were exchanged while working through the requirements.
Pleased to now be back on site and moving the project forward.

We’ve started 2026 with a new project in Harpenden.

The works include the full demolition of an existing six-bedroom house, currently around 40% complete, and the construction of a new luxury family home with a full-footprint basement. To achieve a safe and reliable basement structure, the project involves concrete piling installed around the entire perimeter of the dwelling.

The new home will feature a cinema and entertainment space within the basement, fully integrated smart electrical and heating systems throughout, and a bespoke staircase forming a key architectural feature of the house.

The rear garden will also include a large yoga studio and gym of approximately 180 sq.m, complete with dedicated changing facilities.

Environmental responsibility is an important part of how we operate. Bat inspection and relocation works were completed this week, and a new bat habitat has been installed at the rear of the garden in accordance with ecological requirements.

We are also registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme and will be managing the site with care and consideration for our neighbours, the local community, and the surrounding environment.

The project will be delivered in phases, with the first phase of construction taking place over the next 18 months, followed by a separate landscaping phase at a later stage. We look forward to bringing this development to life and seeing it progress from groundworks through to completion.

Great progress on our Maidenhead project.

We are pleased to share an update from our site in Maidenhead, where works continue to move forward smoothly and in line with our programme.
We are working closely with HAA Architects, and the coordination on this project has been excellent.
The project began on 15 September 2025, and now 11 weeks in, we are right where we planned to be.
1st fix electrical and mechanical are completed, and the new windows and doors arrived today.

The team is maintaining strong quality standards and consistent progress on site. Great work from everyone involved.
