✨ STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE… IT’S WORTH IT! ✨

As I mentioned in my little vlog, don’t be afraid to be a bit daring with your tile choices! 😍

These gorgeous dark, textured tiles are a perfect example of how choosing something a little different can completely transform a bathroom.

It’s easy to play it safe, especially in a smaller space, but dark tiles don’t have to make a room feel smaller. In fact, they can add depth, warmth and a real touch of luxury! 🖤

Sometimes it’s worth stepping outside your comfort zone and choosing something with a bit more personality.

Be bold, be brave… you might just love the result! 🥰

🎥 A LITTLE UPDATE FROM BEHIND THE SCENES AT HRH RENOVATIONS! 🏡🔨

Another day, another little catch-up from me!

I’m slowly getting used to this talking-to-camera malarkey, although watching myself back still makes me want to hide behind a cushion! 😂🙈

But I think it’s important to show you the person behind HRH Renovations, not just the beautiful finished projects.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes — juggling trades, meeting clients, planning projects, solving problems and making sure everything comes together as it should.

That’s what HRH is all about. Taking the stress out of renovating and managing everything from start to finish. 🏡❤️

Anyway, enough from me before I talk myself out of posting this! 😂

🎬 HRH REEL NUMBER TWO! 🏡🔨

I’m getting the hang of this talking-to-camera malarkey! Although I've found out since viewing I can't pronounce my r's 🙈 bit of an issue when I'm called Rachel 😂

Today I’m talking about something that really frustrates me in our industry… rogue builders taking people’s hard-earned money and either disappearing or failing to deliver the work they’ve promised. 😡

My biggest piece of advice?

ASK FOR REFERENCES! 👏

And don’t just take someone’s word for it. Ask to visit a previous client’s home, see the workmanship for yourself and, most importantly, speak to the people who’ve actually used them.

A reputable builder should be proud to show off their work and happy to put you in touch with previous clients (with their permission, of course!).

Your home is probably your biggest investment. Don’t hand over your money without doing your homework.

Good builders have nothing to hide! 💪

And there you have it… Reel number two! Who knew I’d become a building industry vlogger? 😂

🎥 Well, this is me stepping right out of my comfort zone! 😂

My first talking-to-camera Reel, and as someone who absolutely hates looking at herself and not to mention the sound of her own voice 😫 this is a big deal for me! 🙈

But I thought it was time to show you a little more of what goes on behind the scenes at HRH Renovations.

Today I’m in Maidenhead viewing a potential renovation project, including a kitchen refurbishment, new flooring, windows, exterior cladding and a new front door.

There’s so much more to HRH than the finished before-and-after photos, so I’m going to try to bring you along for the journey!

Be kind… I’m new to this vlogging malarkey! 😂 🩶

Been out viewing a new job today — bespoke storage to make the most of every inch of space 👌🏡

Apparently I need to start at home though… because when your fur baby decides your laptop space is actually his space, productivity becomes slightly challenging 😂🐶💻

Bespoke storage for the client… a bigger desk for me! 🤦🏼‍♀️

💡 LET’S TALK SPOTLIGHTS…

Lighting can completely change a room, but more spotlights definitely doesn’t mean better lighting 😬

We’ve all walked into that room… 27 spotlights blazing away like it’s helping planes land at Heathrow ✈️😂

For me, good lighting is all about layers.

Think:
✨ Ceiling lighting for practicality
✨ Pendants to create a feature
✨ Wall lights for warmth
✨ Lamps for softer pools of light
✨ Under-cabinet / concealed LEDs for ambience

Spotlights absolutely have their place — kitchens, bathrooms and task areas especially but they shouldn’t have to do all the work and please don't let them 😳

When we’re planning a renovation, I like to think about how the room will actually be used at different times of day. Bright when you need it, soft and cosy when you don’t.

Because nobody wants their beautiful new living room looking like Terminal 5 😂✈️

What do you think — team spotlights everywhere or team layered lighting? 👇

What would you change about your home? 🏡✨

It’s amazing how one change can completely transform the way a home looks and works.

A better kitchen layout, clever storage, an extra room, a beautiful new bathroom… sometimes it’s the thing you’ve been putting off that makes the biggest difference.

We’ve got a busy few days ahead at HRH with lots of new projects to look at 👀🔨 — and hopefully some exciting transformations coming soon.
