This medical practice needed to expand and create two additional consultation rooms without extending the building or disrupting day-to-day operations.

From the initial discussions through to tendering, securing Building Regulations approval, site monitoring and overseeing the works, our team identified underused space within the building and reworked the layout to deliver two new, functional consulting rooms.

Breathing new life into a fallen stone barn

We’ve already secured Class Q prior approval to convert two agricultural buildings into five homes.

The client now wants the option of delivering higher‑efficiency new dwellings, while still being able to fall back on the approved barn conversions, a smart way to hedge their bets.

Our concept: a traditional stone base that reads as a collapsed barn, re‑built and re‑crowned with a crisp contemporary form above. Rural character retained. Modern performance added.

We’re now taking the scheme into pre‑app to explore the replacement‑vs‑conversion discussion with the planning authority.

We’re pleased to confirm that planning permission has now been granted for the installation of a private outdoor swimming pool within the curtilage of a Grade II listed farmhouse.
This latest approval forms part of a wider, carefully considered programme of works at the site. Following earlier consent to sensitively extend and renovate the Grade II listed farmhouse, and a subsequent approval for the repurposing and conversion of former agricultural barns into holiday accommodation, we have now secured permission for the latest addition to the scheme.
The decision reflects a measured, heritage‑led approach, ensuring each phase of development respects the character and setting of the listed building while supporting its long‑term use.
