Planning Myth #04
π« MYTH: Planning permission and Building Regulations are the same thing.
β
FACT: Planning permission and Building Regulations are two separate processes.
Planning permission considers how a development affects its surroundings, while Building Regulations focus on the safety, performance and construction standards of the building itself.
Many projects require consideration of both, and obtaining one does not automatically mean the other has been satisfied.
Understanding the difference can help avoid delays and unexpected issues later in a project.
