We closed the rescue this morning until lunchtime as we had Jono and his team from R.M Air Conditioning Ltd over as they nstalled our new air con unit in the hedgehog rescue.

The hedgehogs have struggled with the heat this week in particular. We closed to volunteers this week due to the heat as we had to put everyone’s health and safety first.

The hog room is now lovely and cool and we can now control the temperature in there. Let’s just say the hoggies are enjoying the AC!

Massive thank you to Jono and his team for coming this morning and for supporting Wildflower Hedgehog Rescue. We are so greatful to you.

Highly recommend these guys if you’re wanting air con, give them a ring or drop them a message and they’ll sort you out!

And for any keyboard warriors out there, not that it is any of your business, but I (Siobhan, Rescue Founder/Owner) paid for the AC with my own money, not the hedgehog rescues money.

P.S. The rescue is back open as normal and we can now allow volunteers back to the rescue 🦔

A huge shout out to all the air conditioning engineers out there right now. 👏☀️

While most people are trying to stay cool indoors, these lads are out in temperatures well into the 30s, climbing ladders, lifting heavy equipment, working in boiling roof spaces and running from one emergency call to the next.

It’s been one of those weeks where our phone hasn’t stopped ringing. Every customer wants help yesterday, and our engineers have been working tirelessly to get to as many people as possible, all while prioritising those who need it most – from vulnerable customers and care settings to businesses trying to keep their staff and customers comfortable.

They’ve skipped breaks, worked late into the evening and kept smiling despite the heat. It isn’t always possible to get to everyone immediately, but every single one of them is giving 100% to make sure no one is left without help for longer than necessary.

I am incredibly proud of our team. Their hard work, dedication and professionalism don’t go unnoticed.

If you’re waiting for an installation or repair, thank you for your patience and understanding. We promise we’re doing everything we can to get to everyone as quickly as possible.

Great feedback for RM Air Conditioning after their work at Packington WWTW, operated by Severn Trent Water.

Before leaving site, the site foreman came over to our engineer to personally give feedback on the team's performance and shared the following:

"The contractor (RM Air Conditioning) who have been installing the air con units within the new office block at Packington WWTW, conducted themselves at a very high level. Their involvement in the morning briefing, their attitude and standard of work was excellent. Their cleanliness on site and the way they left their work area at the end of the shift was first class."
