🥶 The colder weather is on its way… is your heating ready?

It might not be cold enough to have the heating on properly just yet, but this is actually the perfect time to think about it.

Once that first really chilly morning arrives, the last thing you want is to discover your boiler has decided it’s not quite ready for winter! 😅

A few simple things are worth checking before you need your heating regularly:

🔥 Is your boiler pressure where it should be?
🌡️ Is your thermostat working and responding properly?
💧 Is your hot water running as normal?
🔊 Has your boiler developed any unusual noises?
⚠️ Are there any warning lights or fault codes showing?

If everything looks and sounds normal, great — one less thing to worry about when the temperature drops.

And if you haven't had your boiler serviced for a while, now is a good time to get it checked rather than waiting until the middle of winter.

🥶 When the heating is starting to go back on… this is usually when the phone starts ringing!

The weather has definitely taken a turn recently, and we are coming up to the time of year when most people switch their heating on for the first time since spring.

It’s also when we tend to see the most heating and boiler breakdowns.

A boiler that has been sitting there quietly for months suddenly gets asked to fire up every day — and unfortunately, sometimes that’s when you find out there’s a problem!

If you haven’t used your heating for a while, it’s worth switching it on before you actually need it. Even just running it for a short while can highlight any issues early, rather than discovering them on the first really cold evening. 🌡️

Hopefully everyone gets through the change of season without any boiler dramas! 🤞
