Across the UK architecture sector, AI is no longer a future conversation. RIBA reported that AI use among architecture practices increased from 41% in 2024 to 59% in 2025, and further to 74% in 2026. This shows how quickly technology is becoming part of the design process.

But architecture is not only about producing attractive visuals. Every successful project must respond to planning policy, site constraints, access, structure, building regulations, fire safety, sustainability, budget, buildability and long-term use. AI can help explore possibilities, but it cannot replace professional judgement.

AI may help clients visualise ideas faster, but it cannot confirm whether a proposal is realistic, compliant, commercially viable or likely to gain planning support. That is where the right architect matters.
