🏡 Royton – New Tile Roof
Definitely not my favourite type of project, but at least this one had a positive ending.
We were first called out to this property towards the end of last year after the homeowner had unfortunately fallen victim to a very poor roofing contractor. The standard of workmanship was shocking.
Just a few of the issues we found:
* Battens fixed with drywall screws.
* Lead valleys fixed through.
* Valleys ending short of the gutter.
* Incorrect tile bond.
* Wrong tile gauge.
* Gutters falling the wrong way.
And honestly… I could keep going.
Finding a trustworthy roofer can be incredibly difficult if you’re not in the trade. That’s why recommendations and doing your research are so important. Thankfully, after asking around, this customer found their way to us.
As much as we don’t enjoy putting right someone else’s work, this roof was beyond repair and had to be stripped back and started again from scratch.
We’re now working on the rear roof to complete the project—which has its own horror story! 😅 But it’s great to see the main roof and front lower roof finished to the standard the customer should have received in the first place.
A happy customer and a roof built to last. 👌
