Last week marked a major milestone for us as we opened the doors to share our residential vision for the historic Compstall Mills site in Romiley. The conversations we had during the public consultation were incredibly insightful.

Designing a new chapter for a site like this, nestled between the River Etherow and the country park, comes with a real sense of responsibility. It was wonderful to hear directly from the community. Your local knowledge and honest feedback bring a vital perspective to our early planning process that site surveys simply cannot capture.

Our goal is to carefully restore the heritage of Victoria Mill while introducing a beautifully designed new community that respects the rich industrial roots of the area.

What gives an old building a second life?

Often, it is not just the architecture itself, but the opportunity to reimagine how the space can be used for generations to come. Repurposing existing buildings preserves local character, reduces waste, and allows forgotten structures to become valuable homes once again.

We are delighted to have secured full planning permission for the conversion of this existing barn into a self-build dwelling within the Green Belt.

Achieving approval was far from straightforward. The scheme required careful consideration of policies relating to both the Mellor/Moorend Conservation Area and Green Belt development. Alongside this, extensive work was undertaken to coordinate access improvements and develop a comprehensive biodiversity strategy to protect local wildlife, including badgers and bats.

The result is a proposal that respects its rural setting while giving this historic structure a sustainable new future.

A huge thank you to Philip Garner of Garner Town Planning Ltd for his expertise and commitment throughout the planning process. His guidance was instrumental in navigating a complex application and securing a positive outcome.

We are pleased to present our latest concept for a new build home in Bowdon, Altrincham. This three-storey replacement dwelling sits on a generous plot in one of Manchester’s most desirable locations, carefully designed to feel distinctive while remaining in harmony with its surroundings.

The design features expansive glazing and a confident street presence, creating a home that feels both refined and welcoming. Arched windows and stone cladding add depth and texture, giving the home a timeless yet contemporary identity.

We’re delighted to share that our Beach House project in North Wales has received planning approval 🎉

This is a renovation and extension project which we have helped deliver through RIBA Stages 1-3 alongside Rachael Lauren Interiors.

Designed to respond sensitively to its surroundings, the scheme balances clean, contemporary architecture with a strong connection to the landscape. A key feature of the design is the striking corner glazing overlooking the sea, creating a subtle but meaningful link between the home and its coastal setting.

Designing for the harsh, beautiful Welsh coast requires a balance of creativity and resilience. 🌊🏠

Meet "Random," a bespoke 8-bedroom beach house in Rhosneigr, Anglesey. We demolished the original property to create a substantially larger, modern home that maximizes those incredible sea views without overwhelming the coastal context.

10 years later, it still stands strong against the elements and requires minimal maintenance.
