Flying up!

A big three days and we’re up to the first floor lift on this double story extension! We’ve gone for a full fill bag rubbed finish on this one to match the original house and it’s turned out great. The stepped window is a lovely feature on side and really adds to the look (a lot of cuts/splits working the blocks to brick gauge with them being imperials).

A day or two left on this once the scaffold is up and the steel at the front is in and then it’ll be all wrapped up from us. Excited to see how this one turns out!

Knutsford house build!

We’re finally starting to see steady progress on our super structure project after a few delays coming out of the ground. We’re up to scaffold height now and it’s all starting to take shape!

It makes it a lot easier having such a lovely looking brick to use and I’m really excited to see the finished product with this one!

We’re up to lift!

It’s been a crazy few weeks work wise with multiple projects starting at the same time. A couple of late evenings to manage work flow and we’ve managed to get this double story extension ready for scaffolding.

We have another double story in Withington and a house build in knutsford which I can’t wait to get pictures of as well. Big push while the weathers still nice!

What a difference!

The scaffolding has finally been dropped on the lime repointing job we’ve recently completed in Gorton and what a result! This one’s turned out unbelievable and has given the property a new lease of life. Very happy with this one.

One from a while ago!

We completed on this garden wall a couple of months ago but haven’t been able to get pictures until recently. We’re currently working on a neighbouring property and have done a few in the area similar to this.

The original wall and copings were dropped and reclaimed and then rebuilt like for like but in a lot better condition. This is a shared wall between two houses and both clients didn’t want the wall to look too new so we’ve skipped the acid wash to make it look like it’s not been touched!

We don’t just do reclaimed!

Sometimes it’s nice to have a new brick in the style of an original wall. We’ve used 73mm engineering bricks here with reclaimed copings and pier cap in the style of all the original walls on the street. It’s not always possible to use reclaimed but this one has turned out great.

Ready for the roof!

We’ve finally been able to finish the outbuilding project in Withington this week and what a build! We used Cheshire commons to match the back of the house with a red engineering below DPC and on the back of the building. We also used a white cement and yellow sand for a lovely looking mortar that really makes it stand out!

The roof goes in this week and then we’ll get started on the floor/doors. Can’t wait to see how this one turns out!

What a lovely brick!

We’ve been in Whalley Range this week on a lovely garden wall project. The client sorted the materials on this project and the brick they picked is lovely, all we had to do was turn up and lay it!

We’ve put in four, three brick pillars and a double skin wall in the middle to break up the band of brickwork and it’s turned out brilliantly. Definitely a statement piece at the front of the property. I can’t wait to get back and fit the caps/coping stones once they arrive!

Blockwork!

We were over in Bolton this week building blockwork up to the underside of a steel. A lot of challenges with this one with the hanging wires and the floor being over 100mm out of level but these are all part of the job.

A big Saturday shift to get it finished off for the client who has other trades coming in Monday, time for a b**r!
