Did you know some of the world's earliest 'fireproof' buildings were developed in Manchester?

During the Industrial Revolution, the city's cotton mills helped pioneer new construction techniques using cast iron columns, brick vaults and timber-free structural systems. The aim was simple: reduce the devastating impact of fires that could destroy entire mills.

Manchester has always been a city of innovation - we're proud to contribute to that ongoing story. It's a reminder that while construction methods have evolved, great buildings have always been built on the same foundations: innovation, quality and attention to detail.

, and we’re pleased to give a big work anniversary shout-out to Amelia! Four years and one incredible mentor.

Amelia has grown from an apprentice to an increasingly confident and valued member of our finance team. She's completed her accounts apprenticeship, taken on new responsibilities and continues to develop her skills every single day.

As Linda Starling, our highly respected Financial Controller, begins to step back from her full-time role later this year, Amelia has been taking on more responsibility. When we asked Amelia to reflect on the last year, one thing stood out above everything else.
